Oil-Powered Auxiliary Lighting by J. R. Oldfield. Manufactured just post WWI and the early 1920s, a boxed set of 'Get me Home' oil lamps lest the motor vehicle suffered an electrical malady. Consisting of a sided pair of side lamps, a rear lamp and an oil reservoir, all housed in a fitted metal box with a lid. In complete condition; some rubbing to the black enamel and minor dents.

Officer Cadet School, Maresfield Park, February 9th, 1918. The personnel, numbering approximately 80, are identified by a printed list in the lower margin. Maresfield Park appears to be at Lankester, Tunbridge Wells. Frame size 10 x 16-inches (25½ x 40.5cm), photograph size 4 x 11-inches (10 x 28cm). Phil May (1925- ): Three Framed, Signed Colour Prints of Seaplanes. All three signed in pencil by the artist in the lower margin, and depicting the Curtiss R 3C-2 U.S.A., 1925; the Macchi - M 52 Venice, 1927; and the Supermarine S-6B, 1931. Sheet sizes including margins approximately 11 x 15½-inches (28 x 39.5cm), with one image in vertical format Together with a monochrome print of a work by Charles E. Turner (1893-1965) entitled 'Blackburn Aircraft: The "Skua" dive bomber with the Fleet, marginal staining, but the image itself very good; plus a horizontal format framed and glazed colour print, image size 10½ x 27½-inches (26½ x 70cm) entitled 'The Flight of the Swallow' - Santos-Dumont Arriving at the Chateau de Wideville (the print somewhat faded) together with a colour print dated November 14th 1901 of the Vanity Fair cartoon of Santos-Dumont by Geo Hum. A set of three large horizontal format colour prints mounted on board of motor-cyclists by Geo Ham, the image size 11¾ x 19¼-inches (30 x 49cm), board size 18¼ x 25½-inches (46½ x 65cm), all in excellent condition, together with a quantity of motor-racing and other transport-related ephemera, including a print of The 'D. R.' By Snaffles mounted on board, two mounted coloured antique aeronautical prints, motor-racing posters, such as the Frazer Nash Raid to the Alps 1969 Commemoration of the 1930s Alpine Rallies, and a mounted reproduction of the Geo Ham poster for Palmares Juillet 1934, and supplements to Vanity Fair etc. illustrating motoring personalities of the day. Visions of Speed: The Art of R. A. Nockolds. Eleven Artist's Proofs of Roy Nockolds' work prepared for a Private Edition of only 250 printed (850 copies planned), of an album published by Thackwell & Company, in 1999. The images were produced from the original glass plates on which Nockolds recorded his studio work and are printed on high quality laid art paper. All of the prints are marked 'Proof' in pencil in the lower margin together with full titles, and nine of the eleven are also shown as hand-painted (by either Niki Hayles or Wayne Burrows). The only missing print is Number 16 (Road Race), the remaining pages in the complete volume of 28 leaves being text or photographs. Loosely contained in the front and back covers of what would have been the final publication, each of the dark grey hardback cloth covers (decorated with a repeated triangular winner's flag design), measuring the same size as the prints, 12 x 21in (31 x 53cm). The prints are all in pristine condition.

An R. S. Lovelace Lady's Bicycle. A rare quality machine made in Henstridge (in the civil parish of Somerset) circa 1898. A manufacturer of renown, patenting and manufacturing high quality bicycles of his own design with some very advanced 'lightweight' features. The 19-inch frame would suit a small lady, 17-inch handlebars with a lever-operated plunger brake to the front wheel, fixed rear wheel, narrow section inch-pitch chain operated by a 5-inch chain wheel. archetypal 'Lovelace' braced bottom bracket, circular section tubing for the rear and front forks and patented hub lugs for straight spoking. A better than usual hardback copy of the First edition, original dark blue cloth with gilt lettering plus gilt panelling to the spine, front and rear hinges re-enforced with cloth (as pub), the cover edges a little rubbed, and lower corners slightly worn and with a short split, but internally clean and quite sound. 10½ x 7¾-inches, pp xxiv, 492, plus 245 illustrations and 50 working drawings (many folding). A pearlware farming or harvest jug dated 1798, painted to one side with a shield containing various farming implements, the reverse with a tree in the foreground of an English landscape with a windmill and other buildings beyond, inscribed beneath the spout with 'R Arnold 1798', the rim with a colourful geometric band, some chipping to the spout, 20.3cm.
A Staffordshire salt-glazed small dish or tray c.1750, moulded with a Chinese figure standing before a pagoda, the shaped rim with a variety of flowering plants and a further figure trapping a large bird, decorated with polychrome enamels, a section broken out and restuck, 11.7cm. Cf. Arnold R. Mountford, The Illustrated Guide to Staffordshire Salt-Glazed Stoneware, no.132 for a similar example left in the white.
A Spode blue and white transferware cheese cradle c.1820, printed in the Rome or Tiber pattern with the Castle and Bridge of St Angelo, printed mark, 30.5cm. Provenance: Alfred Gresham Copeland, Robert Copeland (1925-2010). This pattern was inspired by two views taken from engravings found in Views of Rome and its Vicinity published by J. Merigot and R. Edwards, London, 1796-98.
