French Model 1842 Yataghan Sword Bayonet made in Germany by the maker Paul D. Luneschloss & Cie, Solingen, curved steel fullered blade with maker mark on ricasso of ' P.D.L.' in distinctive 'snaggle tooth' cartouche, on the other side of the ricasso is stamped a crown over 'R', brass handle with the pommel stamped 'JS', crown over 'R' and 1867 ( unsure if that is the date or a serial number), held in leather scabbard with brass throat, chape missing

First World War pair of medals, 1914-1918 British War Medal and Victory Medal (7039 PTE. S. LEON. 8 - LOND. R.), in addressed postage box, together with a WW2 medal entitlement slip to RFN. R.J.A LEON ' in respect of whose service these awards are granted did not live to recieve them', records show Private Stanley Leon of the 8th ( City of London) Battalion London Regiment (Post Office Rifles) entitled to the BWM and Victory Medal, he also served with the 8th London Regiment with the service number 373887 and the Royal Engineers with the service numbers 347032 and 207804, they also show that Stanley Leons son, 6914890 Rifleman Ronald James Alfred Leon of the 10th (2nd Tower Hamlets Rifles) Battalion The Rifle Brigade was killed in action in Italy in WW2 on the 7th June 1944 aged 25 and is buried at the Beach Head War Cemetery, Anzio, the personal inscription on his grave reads, ' His fight is o'er he rests in peace, ever in our thoughts'
First World War casualty grouping, pair of medals, 1914-1918 British War Medal and Victory Medal ( 243051 PTE. H.S. TILLER. THE QUEEN'S. R. ) records show Private Hubert Stanley Tiller, born 1898, of Damersham, Hampshire, entitled to the BWM and Victory Medals, he was conscripted, age 18, on the 25th September 1916 initially into the Essex Regiment and then for a short period into the Queens Royal West Surrey Regiment with the regimental number 243051, he then transferred to the 7th Battalion Royal Fusiliers with the regimental number G67979 and served with that battalion in the 190th Brigade, 63rd (Royal Naval) Division during the 3rd Battle of Ypres (Passchendaele) where he suffered gunshot wounds to the left thigh and right foot, he was then transferred to the Royal Defence Corps, serving with 463 Company with the regimental number 85705, after the war he was granted a small disability pension due to his wounds, also included are Hubert Tiller's pocket New Testament with his name to the inside cover, his Certificate of Discharge to the Reserve, a quantity of General Service tunic buttons, a copy of a photograph of him in Service Dress uniform and a framed Royal Fusiliers badge that by family repute, was embroidered by him, (qty) (Hubert Tiller was the brother in law of Private Frederick Sibley RMLI whose medals are also in this auction)

Framed Grouping to Squadron Leader A R D MacDonell, the photos and pilots wings belonged to MacDonell, the other R.A.F. badges were added by the vendor, also included is an office sign from when MacDonell was a Group Captain at the Joint Services Staff College, Aenas Ranald Donald MacDonell the Hereditary 22nd Chief of Glengarry was born in 1913 and joined the Royal Air Force in 1932, in July 1940 he took command of 64 Squadron at Kenley where he scored a number of victories during the Battle of Britain being awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, on 13th March 1941 MacDonell was shot down by the German fighter Ace Werner Molders on a sweep over France, he baled out and was captured, being sent to Stalag Luft 3, he received a Mention in Despatches for distinguished services while a PoW, MacDonell was made a CB and retired from the RAF on 15th November 1964 as an Air Commodore, he passed away in 1999

Richter Schlag., in gilt coated tombac with blue, white and black enamel, engraved with the date 16.Dezember 1938 to the reverse, housed in a fitted blue leatherette case with an outline of the award embossed to the lid, white silk and flock interior embossed with makers name, The Honour Cross of the German Mother was awarded to mothers for exceptional merit to the German nation, who conceived and raised eight or more children and exhibited exemplary motherhood.

A 1930s portfolio of "Petty Girl" images by American pin-up artist George Brown Petty IV (1894-1975), "Petty, A Portfolio from Esquire", Second Edition, 1937, with pen and ink inscriptions to front and back covers by the original owner R. W. Taylor in 1937, Petty's pin-up art appeared in Esquire and his Gatefolds for the magazine originated and popularized the device now dubbed the centrefold spread. His figures were known as "Petty Girls", and were widely rendered by military artists as nose-art on warplanes during the Second World War, including the Memphis Belle.

Buckle noted that that the mask of Meum ‘was one of three ‘Masks’ Epstein modelled between 1916 and 1918.
