Note - damage to the flange or other faults such as staining on the reverse have been omitted from the report as they do not detract from the appearance

A documentary Derby figure of a Mansion House Dwarf, richly attired in a gilt waistcoat painted with roses, a blue shirt and striped breeches, painted to the back with a variety of merchandise, a sack inscribed R B Derby, the large pink hat with a quiver of arrows and painted in puce with a grocer's scales and scrolling foliage, its upturned brim with an auctioneer's bill inscribed PRIME GROCERIES BY AUCTION ON THE PREMISES BY MR BILLY FIGSBERRY. . , standing on a floral encrusted green mound, 17cm h, Robert Bloor & Co, incised No 227, c1820. The initials are those of Robert Bloor (d1846), manager and subsequently proprietor of the Derby factory. . A couple of small nicks to the brim of the hat at one side, but in overall very good, original condition with little if any sign of flaking of the sometimes rather thickly applied enamels. No restoration.

A Crown Derby plate from the Boden Service of Harrow shape, painted with Haddon Hall by E Trowell within a gilt-seeded cobalt ground with "jewelled' pale yellow and raised gilt musical trophies, in gilt dentil rim, 22cm diam, impressed and printed marks and inscribed in red script Haddon Hall Terrace Painted by E Trowell, pattern 2602, gilder's initial R, date code for 1887. The Boden Service was one of several services commissioned from the Osmaston Road Factory in the 1890s. These include that presented to W E Gladstone in 1883. In addition to the factory mark each piece bears the inscription PRESENTED TO MR & MRS WALTER BODEN BY THE EMPLOYeeS OF MESSRS BODEN & CO AT DERBY NOTTINGHAM BELPER & CHESTERFIELD ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR MARRIAGE AND WITH BEST WISHES MAY 8TH 1888 . Very minimal stacking wear to the fluted cavetto which is hardly noticeable and does not detract, no, rubbing as such, scratches, damage or restoration
