Thence by descentThe ring is in good condition. It is stamped 'PLATINA' and in our opinion would test as platinum. It also has another indistinct stamp. The principal diamond measures 10.03mm x 7.96mm x 5.59mm approximately. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour I/J/K, clarity VS1/VS2/SI1. Gross weight 5.6 grams. CR made 15.05.23.
A George VI Silver Hunting-Horn, by Kohler and Son, London, 1941, Retailed by Swaine and Adeney Ltd., 185 Piccadilly tapering cylindrical, in two sections, engraved 'R. H. Palmer Christmas 1941'24.5cm high, 3oz 11dwt, 110grFully marked near base and further part marked on top section and mouthpiece. Further engraved 'Swaine & Adeney Ltd 185 Piccadilly London W. Proprietors of Kohler & Son, London, 1949'. The marks on base and mouthpiece are clear, the marks on top section with some wear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There are some bruises. The top section detaches and with some unevenness and possible losses at the rim.
A Victorian Silver Waiter, by Goldsmiths' Alliance Ltd., London, 1892 shaped circular and on three ball and claw feet, engraved with foliage scrolls and birds, engraved with presentation initials and dated 12th Feb 1892, the back further later engraved with presentation initials and dated 1962-198720.5cm diameter, 11oz 14dwt, 363grThe inscriptions read 'R. & E. E.B from J.M.B 12th. Feb. 1893' and 'A.E.P - D.C.P. From R.E.B. - J.C.B. 1962-1987'.Fully marked underneath and further stamped with maker's name and applied with a simulated seal. The marks are generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the high points.

John Atkinson NSA (1863-1924) “Ploughing in Springtime” Signed, pencil and watercolour heightened with white, 45cm by 60cmExhibited: TB and R Jordan "The Harrogate Staithes Group Exhibition" 2005, no.4Significantly stained sheet with depth of oxidization more apparent across the less worked areas of appear within the sky. Further evidence of varying-sized foxing spots, more evident within a similar area and most notably along the horizon line. Colour depth is somewhat muted as a result of the time staining. The blues and greens of the foreground and horizon also lack vibrancy although the flashes of red within the horses bridle still have vigor. Further size cluster of foxing to lower left-hand corner and lower left-hand side and more isolated spots elsewhere. No evidence of cockling, not examined out of the frame.

Tiny fine crack/abrasion left hand side edge centre.

Evidence of some form of repair to reverse (see images) with some associated retouching to front of canvas. Cleaned and revarnished. The paint is thinner to the background mostly and the canvas is more apparent. This may be by execution as the work has a free and sketch-like quality to it. Canvas is slightly loose to centre. There is little further to easily discern under a UV light by way of later paint or restoration but does not exclude the possibility. Slght stretcher shadow. Otherwise in a stable state of preservation.

Worksplate SHARP STEWART & CO LIMITED ATLAS WORKS GLASGOW 3735 1891 ex London Chatham and Dover Railway Kirtley R 0-4-4T numbered LC&DR 212, SECR 671, SR A671, SR 1671 and BR 31671. Allocated to Tonbridge, Faversham and 73D Gillingham from where it was withdrawn in November 1954 and scrapped. Oval cast brass in lightly cleaned condition measures 15.75in x 8in. This is the large pattern of these worksplates that is seldom seen.

Nameplate STANLEY HALL ex GWR Collett Hall Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1933 as order number 281 and numbered 5938. Allocated to Old Oak Common, Carmarthen and 86A Ebbw Junction from where it was withdrawn in May 1963 and scrapped at Wolverhampton works. In nicely restored condition rear stamped LOT No 281 R 5938 indicating this is the right hand plate. The Hall was near Bridgnorth Shropshire. Note the other plate from this locomotive has had repairs to the bottom of the splasher.
Great Western Railway brass cased circular track circuit banner repeater complete with ivorine plate DOWN MAIN BETWEEN POINTS 20 AND STARTING B37T. Complete with original steel mounting bracket and R E Thompson makers plate. In very good ex service condition with free moving banner, stands 10.5in tall.
Worksplate R & W HAWTHORN LESLIE & CO LTD ENGINEERS NEWCASTLE ON TYNE ENGLAND 3428 1920. Ex Alexandra (Newport & South Wales) Docks & Railway 2-6-2T numbered 37 and GWR 1206. Allocated in later years at Kidderminster and 85C Hereford from where it was withdrawn in January 1951. Oval cast brass in as removed condition with 1206 stamped in the back. Measures 13in x 8.5in. Note the other worksplate is in the Science Museum collection.
