Captain Richard Lano was a Captain during the Boer War who died at the age of 36. Richard Lano was a volunteer in the 1st Dorsetshire Royal Garrison Artillery, and went to fight in the South African (Boer) War around the turn of the 19th/20th century. A popular figure in Portland the funeral procession ran from Rock Cottage, down the Hill. Plus, three similar groups of people (perhaps same event) from Portland. Four cards. (4)
