An early Victorian cake basket Robert Garrard, London, 1844, in the late George II style, shaped oval, the sides chased with beaded flutes the sides pierced with alternate panels of diaperwork and quatrefoils between, the border cast and applied with shells and foliage, the swing handle with applied with rococo cartouche, marked underneath and on handle, the underside further stamped 'R&S GARRARD PANTON ST. LONDON' (Dimensions: Width: 37cm, weight: 56.5 oz)(Width: 37cm, weight: 56.5 oz)Condition report: of good heavy gauge. The centre is vacant but not thin. There are repairs to either side of the cartouche on the handle. The marks underneath are clear. The marks on the handle are worn but legible.
