He was Killed in Action whilst serving with the 4/5th Bn on the 26th October 1917. He was awarded the Pair of Medals only.

Private Robert Renney a native of Broughton Cumberland enlisted into the 2/1st Westmoreland & Cumberland Yeomanry and landed in France on the 24th July 1915. Converting to Infantry the Yeomanry formed the 7th (West & Com Yeo) Bn of the Border Regiment. He was Killed in Action on the 28th October 1917.

Private Arthur Dixon enlisted on the 17th September 1914, just over a month later he landed in France with the Battalion. He was discharged on the 21st February 1919 with the issue of the silver war badge as a result of wounds.

Medals loose. Private George H. Hewitt landed in France on the 23rd November 1915, this being the date the Lonsdale Bn landed in France. He appears to have been wounded transferring to the 43rd Bn Royal Fusiliers and later the Labour Corps. PLEASE NOTE Attribution to the 11th Bn Border Regiment made by the vendor.

WW1 Royal Warwickshire Regiment Officer’s Cap. A good example of the Officer’s service dress cap, now fitted with a Devonshire Regiment cap badge and thin brown leather chinstrap. The interior with soft brown leather sweatband. The inner sweatband with the ink name “Chadwick R.War R”. Small amount of storage wear. GC.
Victorian Cavalry pattern Officer’s Frock Tunic A good example of dark blue Melton cloth. To each breast five double rows of black worsted lace, with pointed ends and sewn to allow the front to hang loose. The rows are sewn with paired bosses. The epaulettes are edged with black lace and bear bullion “R” denoting a Reserve Officer. The stand up collar is with black lace. Quilted black lining to interior. The overall condition is good, small moth hole to one cuff service and storage wear.
