A THUNDERBOLT WORLD LAND SPEED RECORD COMMEMORATIVE VIDE POCHE OR ASHTRAY CIRCA 1938/1939With formerly plated model of the car mounted above plaque inscribed "THUNDERBOLT World's Land Speed Record 357.5MPH Sept 16th 1938" 25.2 cm wide, 15cm deepin August 1937 'Motor Sport' magazine announced that "Great Britain has produced yet another car with which.. to further raise the "motor car speed record" held by Sir Malcolm Campbell's Rolls-Royce engined car, for this country, at 301mph. The new car is the work of Capt. George Edward Thomas Eyston.. who aims to raise the record to around 350mph, and has chosen the make of engine that has figured in recent speed attempts of this nature on land and water and which is accepted as best for our control of the sky - Rolls-Royce". Powered by twin Rolls-Royce R-type V-12 aero engines, Captain Eyston, in competition with his English compatriot John Cobb, gradually pushed the limits of power and speed on the Bonneville Sand Flats in Utah in 1938 before setting a record of 357.5MPH- a record that would last until late 1939. The design of this model- without the stabilising fin and with an additional nose cone reflects the design of the car in 1939.

Rood, an Art Deco amethyst and diamond brooch, circa 1920, set with a large circular-cut amethyst, within a geometric brooch of buckle design set with circular- and single-cut diamonds, length 4.2cm, fitted case stamped Rood SJ Rood was founded in 1873 as manufacturers and retailers of jewellery, and catered to an elite clientele from their premises in Mayfair's famous Burlington Arcade. The quality of their jewels attracted the patronage of Queen Mary (r.1910-1936), whose Royal Warrant is displayed on the fitted case accompanying this stylish Art Deco brooch.

R A Model rustless putter, A Fyfe Special niblick etc and 3 various golfing books CONDITION REPORTS The bag has wear to the leather throughout especially to the top of the bag. The Harrods label has a chunk missing from the top right hand corner. There appears to have been stickers at some point on the leather in various places throughout. The canvas itself is grubby and dirty and has two small tears to one side. Also written on in pen "M.A.E Casey". Strap has some tears and some fraying throughout and the leather base there is some scuffing and a larger maybe 1.5 cm deeper scuff

An Art Deco parure of yellow metal jewellery, all with matching designs of a central oval white opals, with three rows of two square cut rubies to the top and bottom and four white stones either side, on unmarked yellow metal mounts with pierced design to the back, comprising a bar brooch, length 6cm, with safety chain, ring size R, a necklace pendant with a further two flush fit white stones in white and yellow metal mounts, with necklace hoop, length 5cm, and a bracelet with hinged side brackets of similar design set with a central bar of three cushion set rubies, flanked by white stones top and bottom and at the point, on a yellow metal flat link bracelet, length approx 18cm, all unmarked. CONDITION REPORT: The bracelet hoop has a faint 9ct gold mark. The ring is missing one of the small rubies and one of the clear stones to the right has been with a green-coloured stone. The opals have a very high transparency, with greens and blue flecks and appear to be more transparent than white. The white stones are possibly sapphires.
