There is a small area of paint loss in one of the clouds, between the two principal boats, above the long pennant and to the left of the small group of birds. We use a professional photographer to take our principal images, and he has certainly lit this picture very well. You should see the difference in the images between the photographs we have taken and the ones he has taken, as his blue sky is considerably lighter than our blue sky, with the picture in reality not being as light and bright as he has managed to show it. In all probability a late 17th or possibly early 18th century painting rather than being a later copy.
