Wheeler OBE MM both No. 2 Commando. Both were taken prisoner. Plus obituaries of three more participants in the raid: Leader of the demolitions team Lt Col. Bob Montgomery DSO RE, Lance Cpl Eric De la Tour MBE 3 Commando and Major Gen Corran Purdon CBE MC 12 Commando. All three were taken prisoner. Purdon, a persistent escaper was also sent to Oflag 1VC Colditz and was working on a tunnel when Colditz was liberated in April 1945. Good condition Est.

A pair of Edwardian silver candlesticks in the Egypto Classical taste (by R Hodd & Son London 1909) CONDITION REPORTS Candlesticks have some wear to the silver especially at the edges of the dophin supports of the candle holders, otherwise dents and tarnishing and remnants of cleaning fluid throughout both. One has a further larger dent to the flared base, the other doesn't sit straight. Drip tay is slightly bent in/misshapen. One candlestick has lost its baised base.
