Ethelbert White R.W.S., N.E.A.C., L.G. (1891 - 1972), Valley scene, signed, watercolour over pencil, 37 x 55cm.; 14.5 x 21.75in. * He was at St. John's Wood Art School 1911 - 12, early on becoming friends with painters such as Mark Gertler and C. R. W. Nevinson. White exhibited with the London Group and New English Art Club from 1916. As well as illustrating many books, White was also a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy and Royal Watercolour Society. Travelled widely in Ireland, France and Spain. Exhibited internationally. Memorial exhibition at the Fine Art Society 1979.
