A HAND HELD COMPASS AM MARKINGS. An Air Ministry marked compass with torch handle type 06A. Free floating dial with sighting device above. 3.75" diameter with 9" height when the handle is attached. Also a flap guage SA1/R/5/55, dial has 6A/2590 among other markings. Desynn Indicator (Smiths) on the body, 24V, 263FL, Serial No 38241. Family provenance gives it as fitted to a Spitfire with 100 % markings for open or shut

Mounted for wear with a matching set of miniatures, all awarded to Cpt Oliver Bryer RA. With an original name tag Cap H O Bryer 28289 also a silver waist belt R Artillery clasp back.
AN AIRCREW WW11 CASUALTY GROUP. 1939 and Aircrew Europe Star, Defence & War medal group of four issued to Sergeant Kenneth Frederick Green. Date of death given as 29/03/1943 whilst serving in 97 Squadron of the Royal Air Force. Flying Lancaster Bombers his first listed mission with the Sqdn was on the 22/23rd March St Nazaire raid in R5552P, `Mission abandoned due to engine trouble-Bombs jettisoned except 3 x 1000lb which hung up`. His second and last mission is on the 29th/30th in ED754A again St Nazaire with PO Weight, Sgts K F Green, E F Ball, R J Whatley, A Kemp, L C Fisk and J Tongue. Up 17:57-Aircraft & Crew missing. Listed next to the pilot on both occasions he was presumably the second pilot on both raids. Aged 20 the son of Frederick Edward and Ethel Green of Greenway Rd , Taunton, Somerset. In the original box of issue with entitlement slip 574948 Sgt Green with X`s marked 1939/45 and Aircrew Europe Stars, Defence& War Medal. Complete with original ribbons addressed to his mother from the Air Ministry, also his scroll GV1 RI commemorating Sergeant K F Green, Royal Air Force.
A RIFLE BRIGADE PAIR & PLAQUE. A British War and Victory medal pair named to 38762 Pte R B King Rif. Brig. Death Plaque named to Reginald Berry King, who died on the 9th August 1918 whilst serving with the 1st/17th Battalion of the Rifle Brigade. Warloy-Baillon Cemetery in France. A Bwm & Victory medal pair to his brother 230821 Pte F King of the 3rd County of London Yeomanry. Photographs and other related family paperwork including a Funeral Bill of £11.9.0 for Charles William King in 1938 aged 70 of Dorchester. The photographs show a young soldier in Somerset L I uniform with a strong resemblance to Reginald King of the Rifle Brigade. Perhaps an earlier unit in which he served. There is also another photograph of a young soldier (F King ?) in Dorset Yeomanry uniform prior to a later photograph in 3rd County of London Yeomanry uniform. Unless there were perhaps four brothers with strong resemblances, they appear to be the same men. The C-L-Yeomanry photograph is inscribed `from your brother Fred to brother Reg, Egypt 1917-18, 19.4.18.

A Victorian Long Service Good Conduct medal named to 790 Pte E Gillingham Scots Guards. These are mounted court style and are correctly named, though some contact marks are evident in places . A 1914/15 Star trio named to his son 3058 Pte A S Gillingham The Queens Regt. Again court mounted and correctly named. Together with original and reproduced photographs of the Gillingham family and Pte E Gillingham in the regiment and later during Prison service.
A CBE/KPM GROUP OF 12 MEDALS. Awarded to Colonel-Chief Constable George William Richard Hearn, who was educated at Uppingham School the eldest son of Sir Sir Wm R Hearn KBE. Born 1893 he was in the DLI before being commissioned into the S Staffs Regt in 1915. Serving on the Staff and after the war in Burma and Bombay districts, retiring in 1935. In the Second War he was a Bt Major 1940, Hon Colonel 5th S Staffs 1946-58. Asst Ch Constable of Staffordshire Constabulary 1935-50, later Ch Constable 1950-61. Awarded the CBE in 1959, Kings Police Medal 1947, Order of St John of Jerusalem, 1914/15 Star (2 Lt), Bwm & Victory Medals (Captain), Defence & War Medals. 1935 Jubilee &1937 & 1953 Coronation Medals, Police Exemplary Service Medal.
