Chandu the Magician or Frank Chandler was an American supernatural radio drama created by Harry A. Earnshaw and Raymond R. Morgan, Chandu learned mystical arts, such as astral projection and used it to fight criminals and villains, the show aired from 1931–1936, and from 1948–1950. The poster is hand signed by the perfomer: To Mr. George A. Jeness with best wishes from Chandu. A group of interesting and poignant items belonging to Private Harry Bryan, 15th Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Comprising a set of three WWI medals to Pte H Bryan, R War R. Comprising 1914-15 Mons Star (named to 2454 PTE H Bryan...), War and Victory (named to 28589 Pte H Bryan...); A George V Imperial Service Medal named to 'Harry Bryan'; his identity bracelet and a metal hip flask with his script initials; a badly damaged Victorian silver cased open face pocket watch, hallmarked Chester 1899 and a piece of shrapnel; his death certificate dated 28/7/1977; and a George V commemorative medal 'Royal Visit to Bristol 28 June 1912 To open the King Edward VII Memorial Infirmary'Note; By family repute Harry Bryan was wearing the pocket watch during WWI when a bomb landed near him and he was severely injured, however a piece of shrapnel (included with this lot) struck his pocket watch and likely saved his life.
R Lalique 'Prunelles' carafe (Pour Cusenier) : With moulded sepia-coloured handle and stopper with grapevine relief work, designed for the wine merchant Cusenier, the stopper marked '29' under), the flask marked under with maker, etc, H26.8cm Condition Report: there are no cracks or restoration to body. the handle ad stopper is free from any fault. the collar has been ground down and the flared top of which is now gone/missing, so ground down about 1/2 inch ( see illustrations online) there is a small chip to top of collar but the important part ( handle and stopper) are blemish free ! A 19th century oak, mahogany and inlaid eight day longcase clock by R Pitts, Epworth. The hood surmounted with turned wooden finials over brass capped inlaid columns flanking a painted arched dial and subsidiary seconds and date aperture. The eight day movement striking on a bell, the trunk with an inlaid door over a crossbanded and inlaid box base, Condition Report: 228.5 cm high ( on short splayed feet)dial 33 cm wide, fits hood perfectly .photos should say all but look for lose right hand side finial, nick to beaded edge on top left hand side.As it has been almost completely wound right up I could not put on the weights ( both present) but did manage to hang the pendulum i noticed that when the pendulum rocked the seconds went backwards but I have a feeling that this is not at all seriousIt looks like the clock has been used for a long time judging by the dust to top.lovely case-nice thing
