WIMBLEDON CRICKET & LAWN TENNIS CLUB PETITION & SIGNATURES - 1926 a fascinating group of documents relating to a petition to the Minister of Health regarding the Wimbledon Corporation applying for the compulsory acquisition of the ground and buildings of the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis and Cricket Club in 1926. These were sent out to important members of the club for them to sign, and cricket signatures include Major E Wynyard, Frank Mann, C M Wells, J Douglas, A Gilligan, D R Jardine, J R Mason, J Crawford, P F Warner, R Twining, M Howell, etc. It also includes information about the Cricket Clubs these were sent to, Colleges, Hockey Clubs etc.

SCOTTISH WILDCATS (Felis silvestris silvestris) - SMALL & SON, EDINBURGH a pair of Scottish Wildcats, mounted in a naturalistic background and within a large glazed and wooden case. With a taxidermy label on the back for Small & Son, 38 George St, Edinburgh. Case 106cms high, 105cms across *R Small and later Small & Son were established in 1851 at 38 George St, Edinburgh, they moved to 46A George St after WW1. The firm was the longest surviving taxidermy business in Edinburgh trading for around 80 years before closing in the 1930's. This case is probably Victorian. As this is pre 1947 and a 'worked' item it is legal to sell in auction without restriction.
