A LARGE CHINESE BROWN GLAZED MARTABAN JAR, MING DYNASTY The tapering ovoid body decorated in relief with dragons, cranes and other small birds, the shoulder with six dragon-head lug handles above a band of four bird roundels and a four character mark, decorated all over with an olive-brown glaze, 56cm. A CHINESE SILVER WIRE-INLAID BRONZE INCENSE BURNER, QING DYNASTY The compressed ovoid body with two lug handles and raised on a short flared foot, inlaid with silver wire depicting archaistic taotie designs, cloud scrolls and key fret above a band of stylized dragons, the base with a six character Xuande mark dividing a two character shi sou mark, with a carved hardwood ruyi stand and cover, the cover with a pale celadon jade finial carved as a fish, 19.8cm. A scarce .65" Pattern 1800/15 Baker flintlock infantry rifle, 46" overall, barrel 30" with faint trace of ordnance proof, single block rearsight, small blade foresight, and lug for socket bayonet; the lock marked with crowned “GR” and “Tower” and with double line border; walnut fullstock with regulation brass mounts, butt plate tang engraved “P R:30”, the butt box having 2 compartments, butt bearing broad arrow and “BO” ordnance inspector’s mark, and with sling swivels and correct steel ramrod. A good Hitler Youth knife, Fartenmesser, the blade etched with motto and stamped with mark of Carl Heidelberg, Solingen, RZM mark and “M7/65 1938”, the chrome plated steel hilt having chequered black grips and enamelled HJ badge, in its sheath with leather belt loop and retaining strap. Near VGC (almost negligible patches of wear); together with a small quantity of paperwork, photographs, France & Germany Star and 1939-45 War medal in official box, and 2 cap badges, relating to R Dendy of the Grenadier Guards, c 1944. A 1796 pattern heavy cavalry officer’s undress sword, broad, straight shallow fullered blade, 34½”, with hatchet point faintly etched for half its length with crowned 1801-16 R Arms, mounted hussar, crowned GR cypher and trophies with traces of gilt on a darkened background, steel semi basket ladder pattern guard, plain facetted pommel and backstrap with ears, wirebound wooden grip, replacement buff leather liner and sword knot, in its heavy steel scabbard (slightly dented) with 2 rings.
