An unusual acquisition as the Firth's claimed not to enjoy commissioning. CONDITION REPORT: Appears good with no obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
Unattributed; a beech, gun metal and dovetailed steel mitre plane with 2" blade stamped 'MOULSON BROTHERS', the infill stamped 'R. WALLIS' and the gun metal stamped twice 'H. HALSALL' and engraved with the initials 'JH', length 27.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Heavy pitting to base, crack running through front raised metal section, dents to rear metal, screw head worn, heavy wear to the infill.

A Lalique "Gui" (Mistletoe) pattern vase with blue infill decoration, stamped to base "Lalique France" CONDITION REPORTS Some general wear and scuffs, several chips around foot rim, vertical mould marks visible to sides, underside of foot rim is cut/polished and has quite a lot of scratches, area to the underside within the foot rim is frosted and bears a very feint moulded mark "R. Lalique France". Moulded mark appears to be in capital letters.

A William IV Scottish silver pair cased verge pocket watch signed J. Gillan Inverbury, the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and spade hands, the verge fusee movement no. 748, the cases hallmarked London 1830, the outer case 55mm diameter, together with ‘horse leg’ watch key (unmarked) MOVEMENT: full plate gilt verge fusee movement with finely pierced and engraved balance cock with mask at base, three arm flat under-sprung balance, and Tompion type regulator, movement functioning nicely at time of cataloguing. CASE: Inner: hallmarked and with makers mark JG in rectangular punch, and ‘R & J (over) S’. Hinge damaged and with poor wire repair, glass detached scuffed with several small scratches at the centre. Outer: hallmarked on both bezel and case back, three watch maker’s papers within. Silver scratched and scuffed commensurate with age. DIAL: chipped around the cannon pinion, minute hand damages and hour hand replaced. Minor chips around the dial edge.
