LECHETIER BARBE & CO., 60 Regent Street, London A LATE 19TH CENTURY ARTS & CRAFTS PERIOD LARGE OAK ADJUSTABLE ARTIST'S EASEL, to accommodate canvas ranging from 23.5cm (smallest) to 127.5cm (tallest), with winder and with remains of paper label on r everse (family provenance - easel from the studio of Hugh Richard Hosking ('Dick' 1904-91). Dick trained as a mural painter at the Royal College of Art (1924-8) and was Principal of Coventry College of Art (1948-64). Some of his work is located in L eamington Museum and Art Gallery, some public commissions are still in situ. The easel was purportedly originally from the Studio of Augustus John, as Dick was a close friend of Edwin John)

A 3 1/2" gauge live steam model of L. N. W. R. Cornwall, project, number 3020, 2-2-2, length 44cm. The Cornwall as built in 1847 as a 4-2-2 and rebuilt as a 2-2-2 in 1858, withdrawn from service in 1902.

A 5" gauge live steam model of L. M. R. Lion, with tender, project, number 57, 0-4-2, length 84cm. The Lion as built in 1838 Lion received a new boiler about 1845. This replaced the pointed firebox of the original haycock boiler with a round-topped boiler with raised firebox wrapper. It was used in traffic until about 1858, and in 1859 it was sold to the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board for use as a stationary engine, worked only intermittently as a pump at Prince's Dock.
