Scarce Imperial German NCO's Seitengewehr M1898 Sawback Bayonet20 3/4 inch, single edged blade.  Rear sawback edge.  Narrow fuller.  Forte with maker "C G Haenel Suhl".  Back edge dated "14".  Steel, turn up quillon crossguard, regimentally stamped "244.R.8.16".  Steel pommel with Acceptance stamps.  Polished, grooved wooden slab grips.  Contained in its steel mounted leather scabbard (minor shrinkage).
