WW1 1914 star & bar trio 8429 Pte W H Warner 2/Linc R with interesting newspaper write up. Kent & Sussex Courier - Friday 11 June 1915DEATH OF A WOUNDED SOLDIER.On Thursday, June 3rd, Private William Warner, No. 8429, of the 2nd Lincolnshire Regiment, died at Dunsdale Hospital. He was wounded in France on April 30th, and was first sent to Chatham, but was transferred to Dunsdale on May 25th. He was suffering from a shattered shoulder and a fractured arm. Deceased was a native of London.The funeral, with full military honours, took place on Saturday last. The Band, gun carriage, firing party, were all supplied by the 1st Home Counties Brigade, R.F.A. The coffin was followed by his mother, brother, sisters and aunt, as well as all the wounded able to walk at Dunsdale. Wreaths were sent by his mother, sisters, aunts, and the employees of Mossbrachers, London. The service was conducted by the Vicar of Westerham, the Rev. S. Mesurier. Deceased was only 24 years of age.
