c1930s calf leather holdall, with torn labels denoting (P.) & C. S. N. Co., with the label of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company to each end. Property of C. R. Hill, with C. R. H. initialled to side. Used aboard the S.S. Viceroy of India, launched 1928 and sunk as a warship near Oran during the Second World War. Leather rather rubbed and a little cracked in places.

S. LAWRENCE PAT / APRIL 12TH 1859', the action tang stamped with the serial number, iron mounted two-piece walnut stock, half fore-end secured by one spring retained barrel band.
