Note on the underside on one of the four feet there is a small chip but this, it is felt is a manufacturing flaw and in any case does not detract. The bowl is stable when in the upright position

A small 18th Century burr walnut and ebony moulded bureau, the fall front with a fitted interior and drawer below, with pierced white metal escutcheons and side carrying handles, the lock with an engraved crown above the initials A R, on a late 19th Century stand, 48 x 96cm By repute this bureau was the property of Queen Adelaide, consort to William IV. The crown above the letter 'A' would only be bourne by the sovereign's consort or widow.
