ROY LICHTENSTEIN (1923 - 1997, New York) Red Apple, aus "Seven Apple Woodcut Series"Farbholzschnitt auf handgeschöpften Iwano Kizuki Hosho-Papier. 1983.58,1 x 73 cm (77,5 x 94 cm).Signiert "R.

Joining the Edwards Collection in 2004 this delightful R is one of just 544 right-hand drive cars and finished in classic colours. This Collection is offered by the family of the late J. Anthony Edwards whose passion for Rolls-Royce and Bentley motorcars spanned decades. With business success in his thirties, Tony as he was universally known, bought a Bentley S1 that started his enthusiasm that led to owning virtually every subsequent model of Rolls and Bentley since. Tony even passed his advanced driving test in a 1996 Bentley Brooklands at the age of 75! At the age of 80 his passion was still undiminished when he exchanged a Phantom Coupé for a new Wraith. The cars that Tony loved to drive remained in the collection, some retained by the family, and these four cars are a testament to his diligent maintenance, each on the button, for the next custodian to enjoy as he did.Although launched at the Geneva Salon of 1991, many elements of the John Heffernan/Ken Greenley-penned Continental R had been seen at the same event as far back as 1984, when Bentley unveiled their `Project 90' concept car; a suitably enthusiastic reception leading the company to develop the car for production. Clearly, the Sultan of Brunei approved of the end result, as he bought the 1991 show car at the exhibition. The new car was based on the Turbo R floor pan and powered by that model's 6.75-litre turbocharged V8 engine, which was believed (Crewe never quoted horsepower figures back then) to produce in the region of 325bhp fed through the, then new, four-speed GM 4L80-E transmission.Whatever the power output, it was sufficient to give a top speed of some 150mph and a 0-60mph acceleration time of around 6.6 seconds - no mean feat for a car weighing in at some 2.5 tonnes and the best of any Bentley in its day. Unlike all other Bentleys since the S3 of 1965, its body was unique to the marque and not shared with any model of Rolls-Royce. All Continental Rs were finished and trimmed by Rolls-Royce’s Mulliner Park Ward subsidiary and carried MPW builder’s plates, with the bodies assembled by hand from machine-pressed panels. The Continental R was produced from 1991 to 2003, during which time some 1,292 of these exclusive motor cars found comfortable homes, with just 544 supplied in right-hand drive. The accompanying factory build-sheets for this 1998 Bentley Continental R confirms the delivery in Brooklands Green with single coachline in Sandstone, matching the Sandstone leather interior and Spruce green top-roll. Supplied by Broughtons of Cheltenham, it was registered to the first of just two former keepers on 1st August 1998. One of the few Bentleys in Tony’s collection, it joined its Crewe stablemates on 24th April 2004. Used often but sparingly, and maintained with the usual diligence, the car is presented today with an odometer reading of 46,058 miles at the time of cataloguing. The history file includes the aforementioned factory build-sheets, bookpacks, service book, V5C and previous MOT Certificates, the most recent of which is advisory free and valid until the 24th September 2023.SpecificationMake: BENTLEYModel: CONTINENTALYear: 1998Chassis Number: SCBZB15C0WCH63109Registration Number: S314 YNPTransmission: AutomaticEngine Number: 89477L410M/T1T Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 46055 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Sandstone LeatherClick here for more details and images

Lot 611

Offered in 'as-new' condition, this final-production 'Ultima Edition' has covered just 685km from new.Introduced in June 2003, the Volkswagen Sedán Última Edición was distributed to VW dealers across Mexico. Limited to 2,999 examples, they were offered in just two colours, Aquarius Blue (Baby) or Harvest Moon (Beige) and were the final incarnation of the world's most beloved car. Ultimately, having been around for over 50 years, the Beetle's time had come with demand having dried up but, as is the way of things, the last few cars out of Mexico became the subject of 'bidding wars' with one purportedly offered for $1,000,000. Fittingly, the last ever car was destined for the Volkswagen Museum in Wolfsburg.Displaying just 685km, this example found its way to the UK and has been in a private UK collection ever since. It's presented in the original factory Harvest Moon coachwork with Ultima Edition badging and contrasting grey cloth interior. Special features of this final edition include 165/80 R 15 whitewall radial tyres, 5J × 15 body-coloured stamped steel wheels, AM/FM stereo CD player with four speakers and chromed aerial, a special commemorative plaque on the glove box cover and an emblem with the Coat of Arms of the City of Wolfsburg on the bonnet lid. This is a rare opportunity to purchase one of those final 2,999 Beetles and, in this condition and this mileage, it's probably the best example available. When you consider that it's on offer at 'No Reserve' this seems like an unrepeatable proposition.  SpecificationMake: VOLKSWAGENModel: BEETLEYear: 2003Chassis Number: 3VWS1A1B24M904072Registration Number: BB03 BUGTransmission: ManualDrive Side: Left-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 422 MilesMake: LHDInterior Colour: ClothClick here for more details and images

Jersey delivered, UK-registered on 1st March 2022, MOT'd in October 2022 at 39,128 miles and an opportunity for cosmetic enhancement. Supplied with V5C, service book, manuals, main dealer receipts - Offered Without Reserve.Developed especially for British roads by Provide, the company which helped Colin McRae, Richard Burns and Petter Solberg become World Rally Champions. Aerodynamically honed by Peter Stevens of McLaren F1 fame and based around a lighter and stiffer two-door bodyshell, the limited edition Prodrive One, abbreviated to P1, had more in common with the legendary 22B than its lesser four-door Subaru Impreza WRX siblings. All were painted in Sonic Blue and using the WRX STi Type R as a base, Prodrive engineers installed the anti-roll bars from the European-specification Impreza Turbo, along with firmer springs and shock absorbers, to deliver a suspension set up better suited to continental roads. The cars also featured ABS, as well as the Peter Stevens-designed anthracite OZ Racing wheels, front spoiler and rear wing. The car is powered by a revised version of the rally engine with re-calibrated electronics and developing no less than 280bhp, 69bhp more than the standard Impreza Turbo. With a big-bore exhaust, quick-shift gear linkage, 17” titanium-finish alloy wheels and a rally proven suspension set-up, the Impreza P1 limited run of 1,000 examples gained an instant cult following. As an eminently drivable sports-saloon very few examples of the P1 are available in today’s market that do not have six-figure odometer readings, crash damage or heavy modifications. As such, this 39,229 mile Impreza P1 offers a rare opportunity to cosmetically enhance a modern classic. It was supplied by Subaru main dealer Mauger’s Garage Ltd. of Jersey and subsequently serviced by them up until 2018 as evidenced by the stamped service book. Further maintenance receipts show in the name of the first owner and dated 2018 are included in the history file. Imported to the UK mainland and registered with the DVLA on 1st March 2022, it appears the car has been in storage and will be supplied to auction with a fresh MOT. The handbook wallet includes the original service book and owners manuals, aforementioned receipts, previous MOT Certificate and UK V5C.SpecificationMake: SUBARUModel: IMPREZAYear: 2000Chassis Number: JF1GM8KDGYG002543Registration Number: W863 XAATransmission: ManualEngine Number: 810284Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 39129 MilesMake: RHDClick here for more details and images

A well-engineered and correctly detailed homage to the legendary 993 RS Club Sport. The 993-generation Porsche 911 Carrera RS Club Sport is an exceptionally rare car, the last air-cooled model to wear the iconic RS moniker and possibly the wildest normally-aspirated 911 ever produced by Porsche. With only 227 ever made, they are hard to find and when you do, a tad on the expensive side so the lovely 993 on offer here may be a more realistic proposition. Finished in Speed Yellow, this 993 Club Sport Homage has been created at great expense as a distinct 'nod of approval' to the legendary Porsche lightweight 911s, utilising a 1995 993 Carrera 2 as the base vehicle before extensive modifications resulting in the outstanding Porsche that we have on offer today. Internally, the car was stripped out and fitted with a full roll-cage and black sports seats with red harnesses. Externally, to provide maximum visual impact, the optional RS Club Sport spoiler pack is fitted alongside a set of genuine and rare RS Speedline alloy wheels. For more impact and authenticity, the rear wiper has been deleted as have the front headlight washers. The suspension is H&R height-adjustable and a Cargraphic Induction Kit is fitted.A large and comprehensive history file accompanies the car together with a freshly issued MOT Certificate. With 993 underpinnings and an unrepeatable visual impact, this 3.6-litre 993 Carrera 2 presents superbly and stands head and shoulders above standard offerings.SpecificationMake: PORSCHEModel: 993Year: 1995Chassis Number: WPOZZZ99ZSS310212Registration Number: M914 GAPTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 63R07017Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 88089 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Yellow / BlackClick here for more details and images
