Captain Gerald Wyatt Greenwood, R.F.A., the son of Mr. R. Greenwood, J.P., and Mrs. Greenwood, The Gables, Preston Newroad, died in hospital at Leicester on Sunday. Captain Greenwood was recovering from wounds when he contracted influenza, this being followed by pneumonia … He went to Egypt in 1915, and from thence to Gallipoli. At the time he held the rank of Lieutenant. On the evacuation of the peninsula, he was sent back to Egypt. He was drafted to France in 1917 and took part in many engagements. Five months ago, he was slightly wounded, and the day previous to the fall of Cambrai, he was severely wounded.
