Robertus Keuchenius (1636-1673), trained in medicine and law and philology. At Leiden University he studied with J.F. Gronovius (1611-1671). In 1661 K. edited the works of Frontinus before becoming a teacher at the Athenaeum Illustre at Amsterdam. The autograph dedication adresses Gronovius as 'Most famous and learned (…), matchless advocate of the (classical) Arts and its practitioners.' 'Clarissimo & Eruditissimo Viro (…) Literarum ac literatorum fautori incomparabili'.
