A DSC GROUP OF FIVE MEDALS. 15CT Gold Medal QEF 1915 2nd L Horse, Best Horseman and Buck Jump Rider, initials GPG on front. DSC for Minesweeping Duties, in the Eastern Mediterranean, Lt G R P Gilpin RNVR 1917. Supp LG 14/5/1918. For Honours and Services in the Auxilary Patrol. Trio named to Lt G R P Gilpin RNVR. Lt Gilpin entered a contest in 1915, as a £5 prize was awarded, money was tight, winning Mr Scuthorpes Gold Medal, also the £5 cash prize. Serving in Gallipoli with the 2nd L Horse, later commissioned RNVR. He married the 2nd daughter of Viscount Allendale, spending much time in Ireland, where he lost his sight, due to Hunting Accidents. AN ASHANTEE STAR GROUP OF THREE MEDALS. Ashanti Star named on the reverse to 3077 Pte J Bragg 2 W Yorks R, in the arms. QSA named to the same recipient, with contact marks to the number from the Star. The Disc has been mounted by filling the drilled mount hole, then soldered to loops. The original mount and three Bars-TH/ROL/Transvaal, are present. KSA named to recipient, all contained in a 1900 New Year Tin VRI/Kitchener design.

An early Martin Brothers stoneware vase by Robert Wallace Martin cylindrical form incised with roundels and radiating foliate panels in shades of blue on a grey ground incised R W Martin London 2-1877 N17 repaired damages 36.5cm. high. This vase shows similarities in style to examples produced by the French potter Jean-Charles Cazin engravings of which were published in Revue de l’Art Ancien et Moderne. These engravings published in 1901 were drawn by Edgar Kettle who worked at the Martin Brothers pottery and date from before 1875 when Cazin left the nearby Fulham Pottery.
