Three: 1914 star with clasp, (Major N O Burge R M Brigade), War, Victory with MID emblem (Lt Col N O Burge RM ) NEF and EF. Together with the relevant miniatures and framed memorial scroll. Plate 1. Note: Norman Ormsby Burge, Commissioned in the RMLI 1st February 1895, promoted Major 22nd January 1914, Temporary Lt Col 19th July 1915, Brevet Lt Col 1st May 1916. Served with the Royal Naval Division at Ostend, Antwerp, Dunkirk, Gallipoli (where he at one time commanded the Howe and Nelson Battalions) and France. MID 11th December 1915, he was killed at Beaumont Hamel (Somme) 13th November 1916. See "The Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research-Winter 2005" issue No 336 for D F Bittner's article on the Gallipoli campaign based partly on the diary of Burge ashore with the RND

A painted brass side drum of the 1st Bn The Royal Warwickshire Regt, with regimental title, R Arms and supporters, regimental badge and battle honour scrolls "Namur 1695" to "Baghdad", painted rims, cords and tensioners, maker's painted name and stamp d 1890, ink notes on the bottom state "Drum-Royal Warwickshire Regt. Used by the 1st Bn in India till 1936 when new drums were bought. This was bought by the Adjutant Capt P B I O Burge, later Commanding Officer of the Depot 1st Bn & 7th Bn... (unclear), Col P B I O Burge MC. The drum is date stamped 1890 by Potter of London.... it was always said that this drum was with the Bn on 1908 operations on the N W Frontier and in France 1914-18, Palestine 1931, Egypt 1932-4, India 1934-6".
