A group of seven medals, awarded to Major Ralph Oswald Harvey, comprising an OBE (M), 1914-15 Trio (2 Lieut R O Harvey, MID) Jubilee Medal, Coronation Medal and Defence Medal. Harvey was commissioned at the outbreak of war from the Berkshire Yeomanry to the special list and sent to the Middle East and appointed Military Governor of Basra. He was mentioned in dispatches in this capacity and received the OBE for services during the war. Post war he worked for a shipping company and on his death in 1961 left an estate valued at £115,000.
