A set of nine pietra dura panels,mid-17th century, Florentine, in the manner of Baccio del Bianco for the Grand Ducal workshops, comprising eight rectangular examples, each depicting two or more animals,together with a demilune panel depicting a recumbent lion,rectangular panels 19 x 35cmthe lunette 16 x 27cm, each in a gilt and silvered gesso frame (9)Provenance: The Estate of Sir Jack and Lady Baer.Literature: For similar panels illustrating the tradition of depicting animals in 17th century Florentine pietra dura, including those depicted in a tabletop including panels in the style of Baccio del Bianco, see Anna Maria Giusti, 'Pietre Dure: Hardstone in Furniture and Decorations', London 1992, p.83, fig. 26, p.218, fig.76.The art of inlaying hardstones for decorative use was used throughout many courts of Europe from the mid-sixteenth century, but it was at the Medici Court in Florence that it reached its apogee, particularly under the patronage of Cosimo I (r. 1569-74), his son Francesco (r. 1574-87), and Cosimo's brother Ferdinand I (r. 1587-1609), who formally established the Grand Ducal workshop, the Galleria dei Lavori, in 1588. A group of panels depicting animals inset into a tabletop alongside a series of examples depicting grotesque figures, which are closely related to del Bianco's designs, is housed at the Chateau de Versailles and illustrated in Giusti's 'Pietra Dure: Hardstone in Furniture and Decorations', p.83. Giusti comments that depictions of animals in pietra dura at the time were simple, but in energetic and spirited poses, making use of soft stones in very similar palettes to the present examples.In many of the panels offered, pale blue agate and translucent alabaster have been used to form the sky peppered with beautiful soft clouds. An essential slice of Psych Sitar with this simply essential (and beautiful condition) 45 from Shawn Phillips released on Parlophone in 1967. The record (original UK demo copy on the distinctive green/white Parlophone labels, R 5606) is in superlative Ex+ condition showing only a couple of extremely faint, slight and wispy paper marks. With lovely sharp and clean labels, the four prong centre is fully intact. Housed with clean stock original company sleeve.

Scales; R.W WINFIELD; Birmingham, England; 19th century.Metal.Measurements: 16 x 8 cm.Profusely ornamented round-footed scale, from which a cylindrical shaft starts, in the upper part of which the indicator of the different weights can be seen, giving a glimpse of the system of springs inside, and which connects with the upper mechanism. It is topped by a flat, circular plate on which to place the load. On the lower part of the shaft, we can read R. W. Winfield, in allusion to Robert Walter Winfield, who founded a company that handled metal, creating several patents during its production.

An early 20th century Royal Worcester porcelain part dessert service, each piece decorated with fruit and set within a gilt border, all pieces signed; a tall comport, a plate, and a low comport signed by G H Cole; a low comport and a plate decorated with plumbs and raspberries signed R Sebright; and a further plate signed RickellWear and marks and scratches to the decoration overall. The low comport by Sebright with stress marks around the fruit decoration and with hairline crack running from the edge into the centre. The rickell plate with wear to the cherry decoration especially. The high comport with old sticker mark to the surface. In modereate condition overall.

WW1 Imperial German 98/05nA Bayonet, sawback removed example with 365mm long fullered single edged blued blade, maker marked "R Stock & Co, Berlin - Marienfelde". Rare 2nd pattern by this maker. Spine of blade marked "W16". Wooden grips, working release catch, inspection marks to pommel. Overall length 500mm. Complete with scabbard with inspection marks to frog stud and throat.
