A splendid example of the Rover K-Series (VVC)-engined Seven from single ownership and in simply remarkable condition. As the Seven’s popularity as a model at Lotus ebbed and flowed during the late 1960s, whenever it looked as though the company’s drive upmarket would leave it behind and it would be axed from the range, Caterham Cars’ founder, Graham Nearn, would bang on the factory door  and buy a handful of cars to try and persuade the powers that be to keep it in production. As sole distributors and obviously staunch supporters of the model, when the time came for Lotus to finally pull the plug in 1973, it was Caterham who took over the reins, with Nearn buying the operation lock, stock and barrel (plus a number of redundant Formula Ford 51s to sweeten the deal for the now ‘luxury’ car brand) and the Caterham Seven was born. The superb example we have on offer here was first registered in 1998 having been factory-built and consequently being allocated an ‘R’ registration as opposed to the less desirable ‘Q Plate’ with its kit-car connotations. Finished in Caterham Red, it was supplied new to its one and only keeper back in 1998 and is only now coming up for sale as he is no longer able to enjoy it as he once did. Always garaged and used in summer only, it is immaculately presented and could conceivably be 25 weeks old as opposed to rolling off the assembly line some 25 years ago. It’s fitted with the superior de Dion rear suspension layout and was factory-fitted with AP ‘big’ front brakes and a 6-speed gearbox. Over the years, Caterham have employed a staggering range of engines from mainstream manufacturers such as Ford and Vauxhall through to Rover, but it’s the lighter weight units that seem to suit the car best and the 150bhp Rover 1.8-litre K-Series in VVC (Variable Valve Control) configuration, as fitted here, was the choice of most buyers between 1997 and 2006.Optioned equipment includes leather seats, full-harness seat belts, Momo steering wheel, anti-cavitation oil tank, battery cut-off switch, a heater and full weather equipment. The only modifications from standard are LED headlights which can easily be replaced with standard lights. The current indicated mileage is 25,500 and we understand that the car has been serviced annually by a Caterham specialist to an extremely high standard. The engine was refreshed recently although there were no issues, it was simply preventative maintenance. It’s supplied with a full service history supported by numerous invoices, the V5C and both keys.As can be seen from our images, this lovely Seven is in the sort of condition that can only be achieved by dedicated care and attention to detail over the years and we invite your inspection at our Race Retro sale to fully appreciate the quality on offer.Specification Make: CATERHAM Model: 7 VVC Year: 1998 Chassis Number: SDKRDCARW0030522 Registration Number: R79 AFM Transmission: Manual Engine Number: RC-30522 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 25600 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

Lot 645

Serial Number One of 25, offered directly from its first and only owner with just 121 miles from new. A modern interpretation of an icon by Prodrive - reimagined, redefined and recreated to deliver the ultimate competition car for the road.  In 1997, Prodrive debuted the two-door Subaru Impreza WRC 'Group A' car and won the FIA World Rally Championship Manufacturer’s Title in its inaugural season. The WRC97, as it was known, thrilled motorsport fans the world over and gave birth to much celebrated road-going versions. 25 years after the introduction of the WRC97, the Prodrive P25 was launched, a modern interpretation of the rally icon reimagined, redefined and recreated using its DNA to deliver the ultimate competition car for the road.Peter Stevens, who designed the original Impreza WRC in 1997, restyled a number of features for the P25 and working alongside the Prodrive Engineering Team, the modern version is aligned with the heart and spirit of the original rally contender. The technical focus was on making the P25 lighter, more powerful and with even better handling than its 1990s sibling and as a result, the Prodrive P25 is, quite simply, the best road-going Subaru Impreza ever built. The specification is truly impressive, with the P25 being based on the lightweight bodyshell of the Subaru Impreza WRX STi and then comprehensively re-engineered to cutting-edge motorsport standards by Prodrive’s world renowned engineers and technicians. The engine is a heavily reworked version of Subaru's long-serving EJ25 turbocharged 2.5-litre flat-four now boasting forged pistons, stronger connecting rods, ported cylinder heads and a new Garrett turbo resulting in an impressive 440bhp at 6,000rpm and 457lb/ft from just 3,000rpm. Additional features include a competition anti-lag system (ALS) and rally start launch control along with an Akropovic titanium rear exhaust with silencer bypass system. It's mated to a 6-speed sequential gearbox, plus an active electronically controlled centre differential that varies the amount of torque sent to each axle, upgraded driveshafts and prop shafts. Retardation is provided by AP Racing brakes sitting behind Prodrive GC-012L 8.5 x 19" wheel rims, wearing Bridgestone Potenza Sport 235/35 R 19 tyres all under carbon wheel arches that take their cue from the original WRC97. Handling benefits from an improved aero package and the front bumper and splitter reduce lift and improve cooling airflow, whilst the P25’s carbon rear wing, also based on the WRC97 design, provides impressive downforce. As the name implies, just 25 highly personalised examples left Prodrive over a two year period. Here at Iconic Auctioneers, we are extremely proud to offer the first ever Prodrive P25 to a physical auction anywhere in the world. Serial number 36A-001 is a right-hand drive example and is being offered directly by its first and only owner having covered just 121 miles since purchase. There are over £17,000 worth of 'options' for this particular P25, as detailed below:Sparco SPX trimmed seatsTwo 4-point harnesses (only available on SPX trimmed seat option & rear seat-delete option required)Rear seat-delete and roll cage installSpare wheel mounted in boot with quick jackPersonalised wheel colour option: *TOTAL 12 wheels, six gold wheels with tyres (delivered on gold), six Anthracite, just rims.Bespoke P25 car coverAn homage to the world's original affordable sports car and the heroic drivers who wrote them into motorsport folklore, the Prodrive P25 is not only an amazing car to drive in the real world, but it’s also a true collectors piece, much like the preceding 22B. Presenting as you would expect for a car that’s covered just over 120 miles since it left Prodrive, this really is an unrepeatable opportunity to join a rather exclusive and illustrious club. Seriously interested parties are welcome to get in touch with Harry Whale to find out more.Specification Make: PRODRIVE Model: P25 Year: 2024 Chassis Number: 36A-001 Registration Number: P25 AYO Transmission: Six-Speed Sequential Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 121 MilesClick here for more details and images

One of the most immaculately presented and meticulously restored Tommi Mäkinens we’ve ever seen. Launched at the peak of rally mania, Mitsubishi experienced huge success in Lancer Evolution sales, reportedly selling 6,000 Evolution IVs in the first three days of its launch! The 1996 WRC season brought Mitsubishi its first World Rally Championship drivers' title, with thanks to a blisteringly quick driver named Tommi Mäkinen. In quick succession, the Lancer Evolution VI came to be and in the latter-half of 1999, Mitsubishi unleashed a special edition to celebrate its favourite driver's four consecutive WRC drivers' titles from 1996-1999; the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI 'Tommi Mäkinen Edition' (TME). The Evolution VI was already a technological tour de force but the TME came equipped with a more responsive titanium turbocharger, uprated and lowered suspension, quicker steering, an upgraded exhaust, a new ECU, beefed-up transfer case internals, a redesigned front bumper for improved cooling and authentic 17" WRC Enkei alloy wheels. The interior featured embossed Recaro seats, a MOMO steering wheel and red stitching. The performance upgrades saw 0-60mph despatched in 4.4 seconds and a maximum top speed of 150mph. Power was rumoured to be north of 300bhp, rather than the 276bhp 'Gentlemans' Agreement'.Widely regarded as the finest Lancer to wear the Evolution badge, it was available in five colours, with Passion Red and Canal Blue joining Scotia White, Pyrenean Black and Satellite Silver. Due to the popularity of early imported cars, especially when imported by RALLIART like this one, the UK was allocated 50 numbered examples in Passion Red. According to Mitsubishi, it was these Passion Red cars that automatically received the renowned racing decals known as a 'Special Colour Package' (SCP), meaning that these examples were factory-fitted with black door handles to not break the line of the long profile decal. On offer here is an extremely early RALLIART-imported car before the 50 numbered cars were decided upon. This is one of the infamous 212 red special colour package (SCP) vehicles confirmed by its SNGF2 VIN plate. Within the history file, there is a document showing the car was imported by RALLIART with an original Bill of Sale and the original English service books and records showing its full service history by Mitsubishi and Mitsubishi specialists. In 2007, at 48,000 miles, the car was purchased by the previous owner who, in 2015, undertook the most phenomenal restoration, with bills and invoices for work undertaken on file well in excess of £30,000.The car was totally stripped back to a bare shell, acid-dipped and all metal that required it was repaired, including replacing the entire floorpan with a genuine Mitsubishi replacement. The shell was epoxy-primed and the underside was then given an additional treatment of Raptor stone chip. Under the bonnet, virtually every component, nut and bolt was stripped, cleaned and painted including zinc-plating the bolts and painting the engine. The wheels were also stripped and powder-coated with the rear lights and front side lights converted to LED.This car features almost every conceivable RALLIART upgrade and extra, as well as having benefited from some upgrades over its life with some non-standard parts that are described in the online listing such as the Scorpion stainless steel exhaust system. Under the bonnet are some 'unobtanium' elements that enhance the engine bay, including bespoke RALLIART pipework, slam panel, spark plug cover and strut brace (front and rear). The full specification is on our website. The car is very well known within the world of TME enthusiasts and owners groups, being such a highly respected restoration and undeniably OEM+. Our vendor is a JDM collector who exclusively looks for best of the best examples, and this Tommi Mäkinen undoubtedly qualifies, however to make room for the next JDM addition, it is time to move it on. Without a doubt one of, if not the, finest condition Tommi Mäkinen we've seen and your inspection is highly recommended and encouraged.Specification list: Engine Standard engine internals. **Please note that since cataloguing the wheels have been professionally stripped and refurbished, being refinished in a later Mulliner style to enhance appearance. Please refer to our website for images.**A fine example of Bentley's 500bhp Arnage T equipped to Mulliner's highest level of luxury features and refinement. At launch, the Arnage T Mulliner Level II was not only the highest specification motorcar available from Bentley, it was also the most powerful model the company had ever produced and the fastest production-specification four-door saloon available anywhere in the world.Like the Arnage R, the T was motivated by RR's venerable 6.75-litre, twin-turbocharged V8, further developed for the 'T' and now producing just over 500bhp and 700lb/ft of torque, a remarkable output sufficient to propel this substantial motor car up to 60mph in 5.5 seconds and onwards to 170mph. 'Mulliner' refers to Bentley's bespoke customisation division and 'Level II' signifies the highest level of luxury features and refinement available within the Mulliner package. This particular example is stylishly finished in the sought after colour combination of Tungsten Grey Metallic over Beluga Black Hide with the car's sporting intentions clearly signalled by the 19" Silver Diamond cut two-piece split-rim alloy wheels. It initially formed part of Bentley Motors' Special Car Division’s own fleet of vehicles for the first 12 months of its life and as you would expect, was specified with the Mulliner II Driving Specification which normally included Mulliner wing badges, quad exhaust tail pipe finishers, lower front wing vents, chrome door mirror covers, electric slide and tilt steel sunroof, four umbrellas to the luggage compartment, drilled aluminium foot pedals, rear quarter companion mirrors, piano black veneer with bright aluminium inserts to facia, veneer to steering wheel controls, veneered picnic tables, front and rear headrests embroidered with Bentley logo, rear quarter badges, rear passenger entertainment system and an electrically operated rear window blind. There is a detailed specification in the history file which can be viewed at the Documents Desk. The comprehensive service history details main dealer attention from new until 40,000 miles, at which point care and attention was passed to Royce Engineering before, more recently, the Bentley's care was entrusted to Copthorne Classic Motors. Little can compare to a Bentley when it comes down to the exclusive engineering and the fit and finish that they provide and with this example presenting superbly throughout, we welcome and encourage your early inspection to fully appreciate the opportunity that this outstanding Mulliner II Arnage T can offer.SpecificationMake: BENTLEYModel: ARNAGE TYear: 2007Chassis Number: SCBLF45F87CH12349Registration Number: DK07 EDFTransmission: AutomaticEngine Number: 200379Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 69982 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Black HideClick here for more details and images

Lot 501

A genuine period Trans-Am car driven by John Hall from the early 1970s and prepared and campaigned successfully by the current long term owner in the UK and North America in more recent times. Offered here is a very special period Boss 302 Mustang that was campaigned by John Hall in the early 1970s in the well known SCCA Trans-Am series. There is a list of period results below and the car is accompanied by a large history file detailing much of its history. There is simply too much to list here, so we recommend interested parties come along and see the car and history file for themselves or call our car specialist for further details. The current owner is a real V8 enthusiast and this example has formed part of his prominent racing stable since 2003. He spent a lot of his time in the US during the early part of his ownership, enjoying much success at circuits such as Lime Rock and Watkins Glen, with results included in the file. The Mustang was then shipped to the UK in 2013 as the owner lives over here and after being prepared to European-spec, has been raced competitively in Europe ever since, including circuits such as Spa and Silverstone. The car has been the recipient of significant investment in recent years, including an engine refresh by Peter Knight, fitment of AST custom dampers, a new clutch and more. It's powered by a 337ci 'stroker' with ported Boss 302 heads, roller valvetrain  and a dry-sump.  The car has obviously been prepared to a high standard by Richard Moore (Moore Racing) as is evident from its consistent results over the years and there are a good number of spares accompanying the car including two body panels, L+R front headlamp surrounds and three spare diffs with different ratios. By separate negotiation, there is also a brand new FIA 302 V8 by Peter Knight. It's currently finished in white and wearing the period correct 'Boss GTX 302' livery applied originally for the very successful 1972 season.Quite simply, this is an extremely rare opportunity to own a period race car with continuous history that is available for the first time in 22 years and offers access into some of the best historic motorsport around the globe.
