A Japanese Satsuma tea set, with teapot, cream jug, sugar jug, two teacups and six saucers. Provenance: Captain Robert N Walker (1851-1941) and then by descent to the present owner. Captain Walker was born in Maryport and first visited Japan in 1868 when it was a closed country. It was the start of a lifelong connection with the country. His Company R N Walker & Co lasting four decades in the European settlement in Nagasaki. CONDITION REPORT: The two tea cups in this part tea service do not ring true, they have hairline cracks. There is a hole 1 cm long in the base of the teapot. All items show areas of wear and rubbing to decoration.

A silver tea caddy of classical form, Sheffield 1922, inscribed to Mr R Pickthall from Roedean School 1940-1945. 13 cm high. NOTE: In 1940 with the threat of invasion on the south coast part of the school relocated to Keswick and stayed in three hotels in the town. The silver tea caddy is sold with The Roedean School magazine from 1940, 1946 and 1944.

A later 20th Century Ken Rosenfeld glass paperweight of domed form, internally decorated with three lampwork blue flowers around a large stylised pink flower head to the centre, all cased in clear crystal, R signature cane to the interior, signed Ken Rosenfeld 88 to the exterior, diameter 9cm.
