Complete with ribbons. (Approx 34,000 issued with only 344 Officers and men of the Royal Warwickshire Regt entitled to be awarded the Territorial Force Medal.)
An unusual WW1 British medal group comprising of two officially issued Military Medals to Sgt H Green, South Staffordshire Regt which appears to have been issued twice by mistake by the Ministry of Defence, once at the end of WW1 and then again in 1979. Included in this lot are the correspondance between the family and the MoD. The group consists of his original issue Military Medal marked 13266 Sjt H Green, 9/S Staff R. this medal has a good uncleaned patina: the 1979 replacement Military Medal in Royal Mint box of issue marked "13266 Sjt H Green S Staff R. followed by a R for replacement: 1914-15 Star named 13266 Sjt H Green S.Staff:R: British War Medal to 13266 A C Sjt H Green S.Staff R: Victory Medal to 13266 A C Sjt H Green S.Staff R: Italian Al Valore Militare Medal. All are complete with original ribbons. Paperwork also includes a letter from his CO dated 1919: Military Medal claim form used dated 1919: legal correspondance from 1979 etc.
WW1 British War Medal to R/5775 A Towle, AB RNVR. Complete with ribbon. Served with the Drake Battl of the Royal Naval Division. Along with Anson Battalion cap badge (JR Gaunt makers plaque to reverse) ribbon only for Victory Medal and documentation of award of medals as killed in Action in 1918, plus Navy Separation Allowance Certificate of Identity 1917, and Imperial War Graves Commission Letter from 1926 in envelope informing the family that his grave was now sadly lost but believed he was reburied in Achiet-Le-Grand Cemetery.

Annan & Sons Ltd label verso Condition Report: On close inspection there is a stretcher bar line slightly visible along the top of the canvas recto where there has been some very fine cracking of the pigment in places. Overall the painting is in good condition.
ARCHIBALD KAY RSA, RSW (SCOTTISH 1860-1935) LOCH ACHRAY AND BEN VENUE Oil on canvas, signed, 61 x 91.5cm (24 x 36") T. & R. Annan & Sons Ltd label verso Condition Report: There is a significant amount of light to moderately heavy cracking in the pigment over the top half section of the canvas with small areas of what appear to be retouching and the pigment is starting to lift and curl in areas. There is cracking evident to a lesser degree within much of the lower right hand quarter section. Within the lower left hand quarter section there are areas of cracking with the result of paint flaking off from the canvas surface.

Fare, breech loading with screw - off gun butt reservoir clad in leather, 106cm overall length Condition Report: , I don't know if still holds compressed air, there is no pump with it. I think it is 43 calibre and the usual number of shots you get from a single charge is ten. As far as I know there is nothing missing except the pump. .

Band (scissor mark) . clarinet player - clarinet broken and restored. Sousaphone player - arm holding horn broken off but we have. Other arm missing. trumpet player - intact, gilt rubbed. cello player - end of cello missing, end of bow broken and restuck. drum player - intact, some black missing under feather on hat. violin player - bow restored, otherwise ok. bagpipe player - intact. oboe player - feather on turban restored, gilt rubbed, otherwise ok. . Smaller figures. woman green dress - Arm, book and feet restored, marked R to base. woman pink dress - left arm restored, chips to bonnet, frills and base. purple coat - hands and arms restored crack to wig, . sousaphone player - chips to back of instrument, marked R to base. Oboe player -instrument broken at both ends and restored, feather on turban restored, pseudo crossed sword mark. larger female - one foot restored, chips to other foot, thumb restored, chips to cuffs. Conductor pink coat - missing baton, one hand off but we have it.
