A Norwegian burr birch tankard, late 17th century and later, the hinged lid carved with a sleeping figure within a crowned serpent edge and a fruit and leaf outer border, to a later lion and ball finial, with an 'S' scroll handle carved with two male mask terminals, the body with three oval panels, the central one with a male and female figure each holding a cornucopia and entwined by a caduceus, the outer border inscribed 'ONSILIV...INNOCTE', to leaf and flower carvings with a snail, lion, a squirrel and a lamb, with two further panels each with a laurel border and depicting Apollo and Mercury, raised on later lion and ball feet, the base with a flower head with the initials 'R S' and the date '1672', 17.6cm wide 20.2cm deep 21.5cm high Literature: For a Norwegian burr birch tankard with similar carving, see Lot 1010, Syd Levethan: The Longridge Collection, Christie's 10-11 June 2010. CONDITION REPORT: Worm holes, possible restoration to the base of the handle, difficult to see but photos try to show these areas. One lion's tongue is chipped. Sixpence 1821 First R in BRITANNIAR has full lower serifs, giving the appearance of a BBITANNIAR reading, however when this coin is compared to the recognised BBITANNIAR error the second R is not as clearly a pronounced B the base not being as thick, so offered here as a new variety BBITANNIAR error with thin lower base to second B or BRITANNIAR with second R with base crossbar

SAJAC03S221M53852 Engine no. 1B0203200432 The supercharged S-Type R was introduced in 2002 in the hope that it would compete with BMWs M5 and the Mercedes E55 AMG. The R was powered by the newly revised 4.2 litre V8 with an Eaton M112 supercharger, producing 400hp and could accelerate from 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds. The R sported 18” alloy wheels, a wire mesh grille and monochromatic paint. The R also has a rear apron, side-skirts and a front apron with built in fog lamps, a rear spoiler and R badging on the boot lid and both front wings. This example is being sold as part of a deceased estate and is a genuine car. There is a file of history that includes a receipt for two new tyres, fitted last August, a selection of old MOTs, a current MOT that expires in July and an invoice for the last service (130,000 miles), carried out at the end of September.
