A TFWM GROUP OFFICERS GROUP OF THREE TO THE ROYAL ARTILLERY. A Territorial Force War Medal, British War & Victory Medals, named to 2/Lieut G M Lane (RA) on the TFWM. Commissioned into the R Horse & Field Artillery 2/Lt 26/5/1917. Lt 26/11/1918. Graham Maurice Lane's MIC card makes interesting reading, having originally served as 671 Cpl G M Lane RAMC. He applied for the 1914/15 Star, which was not permitted. He had served in France from December 1917. (1914) crossed out and amended. Issued with his TFWM and pair by the RFA, his rank was stamped on all three .There are three Southampton addresses and Woolwich involved while applying for his medals. Possibly one of the most filled out MIC's, we are likely to see.
MASONIC 9ct MEDAL etc. A cased Secundus award in 9 ct gold, Pickwick Lodge No 5448. Top bar with Secundus in enamel front, arch shaped centre with enamel 'Portly Gentleman' above a hallmarked device. Of four piece construction marked Spencer of London and dated 1934-35 Second Master. A boxed silver Serving Brother medal, marks for London 1929, again R Spencer maker. Leather Masonic case with empty medal boxes etc. See Illustration
AN OFFICER CASUALTY TRIO 25th N. FUSILIERS. (TYNESIDE IRISH) A 1914/15 Star named to 17500 Pte P C Cox. Notts & Derby R. British War & Victory Medals named to 2/Lt P C Cox. Percy Cyril Cox served with his Regiment in France from the 26th January 1915. He was commissioned into the Northumberland Fusiliers (30th Battalion-Training) on the 3rd December 1915. Then into the 2nd Battalion 25th N Fusiliers (2nd Tyneside Irish), on the 18th April 1917. Posted missing during an attack on the 28/4/1917, later confirmed as Killed in Action on that date. The medals were sent to his father, H E Cox esq, Chestnut Grove, Radcliffe on Trent. Nottinghamshire.. Aged 21 the son of Henry Edwin and Lily Cox of the above address. Commemorated on bays 2 & 3 of the Arras Memorial.

Charles R Carvil served with his Regiment (County of London- The Queens) in France, from the 16th March 1915. Awarded a Silver War Badge List TP/231 and Discharged List 392 (16) on the 17th May 1916.
A DEVONS 1914 CASUALTY TRIO & PLAQUE. A framed 1914 Star & Bar, British War & Victory Medals, named to 9708 Pte W R Clarke 1/Devn.R. Private Walter Reginald Clarke was born, educated and enlisted at Honiton. Devon. Proceeding to France with the 1st Battalion Devonshire Regiment, on the 22nd August 1914. He was Killed in Action 27th October 1914. The Battle of Festubert, where his Battalion was to suffer many casualties. Very few of the Officers who landed with the Battalion in September, remained with them. Pte Clarke was the brother of Gertrude Clarke of 38 Bathwick Street, Bath. Aged 20 years old, buried in Plot 3, Row A, Grave 16 in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery. France. With the Kings Letter and photocopied details.
A R NAVY NGS 1915-62 & LSGC GROUP OF FIVE MEDALS. A 1914/15 Star, British war & Victory Medals named to J.28297 A. E Harris . A.B . R.N. A Naval General Service Medal GV1 bar Palestine 1936-39, named to J.28297 A E Harris A.B. R.N. A Long Service Good Conduct Medal GV named to J.28297 A E Harris A.B. R.N HMS Queen Elizabeth. Albert E Harris is listed as serving on HMS Ajax during the Gt War. HMS Ajax was a Battleship of the King George V Class, during the 1914-1919 period, launched around 1913. She was in the Battle of Jutland and was scrapped in 1926. Further research would confirm the ship he was on in Palestine, perhaps if he went onto service in W W 11. He was awarded his Long Service Good Conduct Medal whilst serving on HMS Queen Elizabeth. A Battleship launched just in time for the Gt War, she was the Flag Ship of General Sir Ian Hamilton in the Dardenelles Campaign. After the war she became the Mediterranean Flagship until C1937. Attacked by Italian Frogmen in December 1941 and seriously damaged. Scrapped in 1948. See Illustration
A 1914 STAR/BAR TRIO & PLAQUE. A 1914 Star with gilt bar, named to 1578 Pte J R Wallace. 1/28 Lond R. British War & Victory Medals named to 2/Lt J R Wallace. Born on the 5th June 1895 at Kensington, the younger son of Roger W Wallace KC and Mrs Wallace of 36 Campden Hill, Kensington, London W. Educated at Rugby School and Oriel College Oxford. A distinguished runner at short distances, also a member of the OTC. Joining the Artists Rifles at the commencement of the war, serving in France he was commissioned 2/Lt in the 2nd battalion Royal Scots Fusiliers, from the General List. Invalided home in the same month with Pleurisy, contracted in the trenches. Early in April 1915 he took upon recovery a draft from Ayr, to the 1st battalion. It was with that battalion he was Killed in Action near Ypres on the 22nd April 1915. The Officer Commanding his battalion wrote,'His pluck and unselfishness after he was hit, will always be remembered in the Scots Fusiliers. His one idea was that the men wounded with him should be treated first.I can only say his loss to us is irreparable . Memorial Plaque named to John Roger Wallace, in its envelope of issue. THREE GT WAR LINE REGIMENT PAIRS. British War & VIctory Medals named to 1. 15632 Pte A MaIntosh Leics. R. (Alexander) MacIntosh served with his Regiment in France from the 29/7/1915. He was Killed in Action 30th January 1916. Entitled to a 1914/15 Star. He was 22 years old when he was KIA, serving with the 7th battalion Leicestershire Regt. The son of John and Helen MacIntosh of Brockenhurst Hants. Husband of Alice May MacIntosh of 22 Wharncliffe Rd, Loughborough. Buried in Beinvillers Military Cemetery. Pas de Calais. 2. 241606 Pte H Martin Lincs R. (Herbert Martin) also served in the Worcestshire Regt as number 335096. 3. 3569 Pte W McCallum L'Pool R. (Herbert Martin) he also served under number 201276.

Cargill 1946-1974", John Pinches (Medalist) Ltd, London 1972, diameter 12cm, and a silver circular bowl of plain form with mirrored centre, Birmingham 1982, weighable silver 4ozt (3).
A late 19th/early 20th century Swiss silver three bear cased open face crown wind fob watch, the circular enamelled gilt heightened dial set with Roman numerals, the inside cover inscribed "R and T Johnson, Darlington", suspended on a short silver plated curb chain terminating with a silver bar brooch.
Robert Wallace Martin (British, 1843-1923) for Martin Brothers Two domed pierced tiles the larger with flowerhead motif in blue glazes the smaller inscribed 'R. W. Martin, 8', the larger numbered '24' the larger 15cm x 15cm, the smaller 11.5cm x 11.5cm (2). Provenance: Richard Dennis, Martin Brothers Pottery Exhibition, 1978.
Charles Robert Knight (American, 1874-1953) Triceratops, 1915 signed and date 'Chas R Knight, 1915', titled and inscribed probably produced at Roman Bronze Works Inc bronze 18.5cm across. Provenance: Estate of Emma Fordyce MacRae. Charles Robert Knight was probably best known for his influential depictions of dinosaurs and prehistoric animals at the beginning of the 20th Century. He was hailed as 'one of the great popularisers of the prehistoric past', influencing a whole generation of the museum public and his work was often used to illustrate books on dinosaurs published in the first half of the 20th Century. He wrote on the Triceratops 'in spite of its formidable mien, [it] was perfectly harmless...and not aggressive for all its great horn and armored bony frill and...The spiny projections on the head...no doubt saved the peaceful, clumsy brute from early extinction.' (Charles R. Knight, Before the Dawn of History, 1935)

A canteen of silver kings pattern cutlery, for eight place settings, approx. 128.0 ozt (weighable silver) See illustration Condition report Report by RB The vast majority is the manufacturer C B & S, although there are a couple of R P, again the vast majority are 1968, but there are just a couple which are 1973/4, but it was clearly all bought at the same time, there are just a few interlopers in amongst it. The condition is good, clearly hardly any use, no initialling or cresting, the lower drawer contains fish knives and forks, along with soup and other spoons, and there is a section to the back left hand of this drawer which is just a void, although I cannot see that it was ever fitted for anything at all. The case is generally good, although there are a few knocks to the edges, tops and sides.
A 17th century trefoil spoon, with scrolling decoration, initialled, possibly Cornish Condition report Report by RB Overall worn, the spoon has clearly been used by a right hand person, as the bowl has worn thin, having been used, it is also slightly misshapen where it is thinned, the reverse has decorated scrolling foliage, and appears to have been made separately to the handle, and looks quite crude in the way it is attached to the handle, marked R P above a ., within a shield shape twice, the top of the handle initialled M L P to the back, the front with scrolling foliage decoration, with the tip being quite worn.

19TH CENTURY SUNDERLAND PINK LUSTRE MUG with panel depicting a west view of the cast iron bridge over the river Wear built by R. Burden Esquire and the reverse a poem 'The Sailors Tear'. Unmarked, Scott & Sons, Southwick. 10cm high. CONDITION REPORT: No obvious major significant damage, cracks or restoration. Wear and minor nibbles to top and bottom rims. A little grubby but ok otherwise.
FRENCH BRASS CARRIAGE CLOCK with full depth enamel face, having Roman numerals, the brass movement with exposed escapement, marked: R & Co., repeating and striking on one gong, together with original carrying case and key. 13.5cm high. CONDITION REPORT: Case is overall generally worn of gilding, the carrying case has completely lost its outer leather covering, but does retain some of its lining. Left hand glass panel has some loss to a corner. Clock is striking when wound.
Banded flatweave cover, possibly woven by the Turkmen of the Kunduz area, north east Afghanistan, first half 20th century, 11ft. x 5ft. 2in. 3.35m. x 1.58m. Relatively finely woven with good variety of colour. Some wear and small holes. There are similarities to the Kashgari Turkmen of east Turkestan to whom this kilim could also be attributed. Cf. Hull, A. And Lyczyc-Wyhowska, J. Kilim, The Complete Guide, p. 259, pl. 494. And Parsons, R. D. Oriental Rugs, Vol. 3, Afghanistan, p.81, pl. 51.
