1923-4 Hornby Colman’s Mustard van. Open axleguard base, nut & bolt construction, nickel plated large drop-link couplings, nickel plated wheels on thin axles, yellow body with red & gold shadowed ‘Colman’s Mustard’, bulls head in top R/h corner, ‘By appointment’ in lower L/h corner, ‘Hornby Series’ on chassis beam one side R/h corner. Opening doors are complete with door handles. Roof is dark cream colour and has a couple of scratches. The body is un-marked. The box is buff coloured natural solid strawboard with printed label stating: “Covered luggage van – Carro de Bagaje Cubierto - Wagon de Bagages Couvert – Gauge 0 – Manufactured by – Fabricante – Fabriqué par – Meccano Ltd Liverpool Eng.” The box base has a pencil written ‘Colmans Mustard’ on one long side. There are two rubber stamp marks on the outside of the lid – one states ‘Colmans’ and the other ‘Tested.’ Internally it is stencilled ‘Made in Holland 28 x 36 =12’ which refers to the board maker and size of the uncut sheet. Graebe (New Cavendish) states this is the correct box and correct label. (BE)

Four Piece Sterling Silver Tea Set and Tray. The Tea Set includes a Sterling Silver Tea Pot, Coffee Pot, Milk Jug and Sugar Bowl. The makers marks are 'GH for Harrison Brothers & Howson (George Howson), crown assay mark for Sheffield, Lion Passant for Sterling Silver and date letter 'C' for 1945.  The Sterling Silver Tea Pot and Sterling Silver Coffee Pot both have Ebony finials and handles.  The Sterling Silver Tea Pot measures approx. 8 1/2 inches length excluding handle, approx. and approx. 5 inches height including finial.  The Sterling Silver Coffee Pot measures approx. 7 inches in height x 5 1/2 inches max diameter excluding handle.  The Sterling Silver Milk Jug measures approx. 6 inches in length including the spout and handle, approx. 3 inches in width and approx. 2 1/2 inches in height.  The Sterling Silver Sugar Bowl is approx. 5 3/4 inches including handles, approx. 3 inches width and approx. 2 1/2 inches in height.  The Solid Sterling Silver Rectangular with cut off corners shaped tray with handles has makers marks 'R&B' for Roberts & Belk Ltd, crown assay mark for Sheffield, Lion Passant for Sterling Silver and date letter 'B' for 1944. The Sterling Silver tray measures approx. 16 1/2 inches x 10 inches excluding the handles.  Total gross weight of the Sterling Silver tray is approx. 1451.36 grams.  Total gross weight of the Four Piece Sterling Silver Tea Set is approx. 1752.01 grams.  Total gross weight of the Sterling Silver Tea Service & Sterling Silver Tray is approx. 3203.37 grams.  Condition: The Sterling Silver Tea Set is in good condition. The claws are intact on the Diamonds and Sapphires.
