A twentieth century circular capstan inkwell of plain form, hinged lid with personal engraving and clear glass liner, height measures 2 inches (5cm). Hallmarked Birmingham, date letter could either read 1920 or 1945, sponsors mark indistinct. The inkstand is in good condition overall. There are some minor surface scratches to the whole, and a number of small dents, particularly to the edges. There are some patches of discolouration. The lid is quite battered both inside and out. On the inside it is very scuffed. The hinge works well and the lid fits properly. The inside of the stand is stained and crusty. The glass liner has a crack in it and is stained with ink. The base is showing signs of wear. The hallmarks are a little rubbed but still mostly legible, although the sponsor's mark is indistinct. The top of the lid is engraved with an 'R', which again is rubbed but still clear.
A pair of modern letter openers in commemoration of the Queens Silver Jubilee, engraved 1953-1977. Length measures 10 3/4 inches (27cm), weight 8.75ozt (272gms). Hallmarked Sheffield 1977, sponsors mark reads R&B. The letter openers are in good condition. Both have surface scratches, one has a few small notches to the blade, and both are tarnished. One of the letter openers is more tarnished than the other. The decoration on the ends of both is clear and unrubbed, as is the engraving on the back. Both are engraved 'THE QUEEN'S SILVER JUBILEE', and the dates '1952-1977'. One is marked '413/2500', and the other '411/2500'. The undersides of both are scuffed. The hallmarks are clearly legible.
A pair of modern grape scissors with ornate figurative and fruiting vine motif handles. Length measures 6 inches (15.5cm), weight 2.89ozt (90gms). Hallmarked London 1971, sponsors mark reads R&D. The grape scissors are in very good condition. There is a large amount of tarnish to the whole, and some build ups of dirt and polish around the hinge. The hinge works very well. The hallmark is clear and unrubbed.
A quantity of reference books relating to the manufacture and collecting of decorative glass, to include "Nailsea Glass" by Keith Vincent, "Medieval Glass Workers in South Staffordshire" and "Chats on Old Glass" by R A Robertson, Ex Libris, H J Haden many include hand written notes and annotations.(31).

18ct gold diamond set marquise shape up finger ring, the central marquise set with twenty one old European cut diamonds with openwork scroll design shoulders. Estimated total diamond weight-1.00ct. Length of marquise-1.9cms. The ring is in generally good condition, there are minor scratches to the gold however nothing serious. All of the diamonds are nice and bright. Ring Size UK-R, US-8.5.
* Two 18ct gold rings to include a sapphire and diamond cluster with a central sapphire surrounded by graduated eight cut diamonds also a sapphire and diamond ring with two pear shaped sapphires flanked by round brilliant diamonds in a lozenge design. The rings are in good condition with no visible damage only minor scratches and dents from general wear and tear. Finger sizes-cluster ring UK L and a half, US 6, pear shaped sapphire ring UK R, US 8.75.
A five stone diamond and synthetic colour change sapphire set ring, with a central old European cut diamond bordered to each side by a circular sapphire and final diamond terminations. (One synthetic sapphire missing) Estimated total diamond weight-0.70cts, Clarity-SI2/P2, Colour-J/L. The ring is in fair/poor condition. One of the sapphires is missing and the setting to the other sapphire appears quite lose. All of the diamonds appear generally dull and again the settings may need attention. There are minor scratches to all of the gold, wear and tear. Ring Size UK-R, US-8.5

A near identical album of photographs was sold at Bloomsbury, lot 430, 20th June 2002, this copy however does not have the manuscript table of contents with printed heading, nor the printed title slip below each photograph. . With a one page autograph note signed from H.M. Stanley to [Charles] Danford, on lined note paper "all true about Abyssinia. I am going on a tramp so distant, so very distant, to such an interesting country. If I ever should come back I will be a notorious fellow. Don't you want to go. If you should come to London call at the Queen & we will have a glass together, Queen's Hotel, 17 1/68, War Cor. N.Y. Herald", [c.14x 11cm], somewhat soiled and frayed.
