Sir Ernest George (British 1839-1922) R. A R. E PRIIBA. 'At Tours', 'The Church, Arque' and another of figures seated among the ruins of a Gothic church, watercolour, each initialled E. G Acorn panied with paperwork stating that the watercolours are from an album 'dedicated to' John and Mary George from their affectionable son - Ernest George - 1858', each 12.5 x 19.5cm, f/g (3).

THREE MEDALS awarded to Lieutenant George Gordon, the Military medal for Bravery in the Field '9457 PTE G Gordon.1/5 Lond. R.', a WW1 Campaign medal '2.LIEUT G. Gordon. and a 1914 Star medal '9457 PTE G Gordon. 51 Lond R' with accompanying letter, a photograph of George Gordon and a copy of 'My Lady's Garden' planted and grown Hackleplume with inscription from the Lieutenant Lieut George Gordon was awarded the Military Medal for Galantry on May 15th 1915 for repeatedly guiding reinforcements from H.Q to front line under heavy fire. Gordon was then promoted to L/Sgt in L.R.B and subsequently returned to England to be commisioned in 23rd London Regiment in January 1916. The letter in the lot was to to his mother dated 4th May 1917 and refers to a testimonial signed by many officers who had served with him in 1914-1916, the testiminial refered to in the letter has since been lost in the years after his death. Gordon was severely wounded at Ypres 1917 and died after a long illness on the 2nd January 1939. The book in the lot 'My Lady's Garden' is believed to have been sent to him by Hackleplume in 1921. He is mentioned in the first verse on page 26 of 'The Pleasuance'. He appears on page 215 under 'the index of names treasured in our memeory garden'.
