Natural History - A group of one hundred marquise-cut garnets of a deep red-brown colour. 8.29 grams total, 4-8mm (1/4"). From a historic ‘Victorian Museum’ collection; from the stock of Gregory, Bottley & Lloyd (1981-2014); formerly with Gregory, Bottley & Co. (1932-1981) and previously with J. R. Gregory & Co. (1898-1932); originally in the collection of the famous James Reynolds Gregory (1858-1898"). This item is part of a historic collection of fossils and minerals which has recently been reviewed by leading geological expert Dr. Ronald Bonewitz. [100, No Reserve] Extremely fine condition.

A silver ring with tapering shank; shoulders with applied pellets in a triangular shape; twisted rope pattern around raised bezel set with an orange carnelian. 4.65 grams, 20.61mm overall, 18.87mm internal diameter (approximate ring size British R 3/4, USA 9, Europe 60 1/4, Japan 18"). A silver-gilt brooch, variant of the knee brooch type, with hexagonal-section tube and slot for the pin, curved bow with openwork scroll, transverse ribbed collar, waisted footplate with scooped profile, knop finial, catch to the reverse. Cf. Hattatt, R. Brooches of Antiquity, Oxford, 1987, item 1232 for type. 12 grams, 43mm (1 3/4"). From an old European collection; acquired in Munich in the 1970s. [No Reserve] Fine condition.

dating: 20th Century provenance: Germany, Heavy, straight, single-edged blade, with fuller, 'Arbeit Adelt' motto on one side, 'R J A D' in a triangle, 'GES. GESH.', and 'ORIGINAL / EICHORN / SOLINGEN' with effigy of a squirrel at the base of the other side. Small, iron quillon lobed on one side. Grip with beak-shaped edges and deer horn grip scales. Iron scabbard (some pitting) with chape bearing RAD badge, cap with spiral decorations. Complete with a metallic, marked loop. length 37,6 cm.
dating: Second half of the 20th Century provenance: Eastern Europe, With brass body, marked 'Ernst Leitz Wetzlar', 'Leica D. R. P.', 'No 315007', 'LUFTWAFFENEIGENTUM' and with German eagle above 'M'. In working order. In leather case. A copy, probably a Soviet production. Dimensions 13 x 7 x 5 cm.
dating: provenance: Europe, Majestically embossed with a finest hunting scene, a couple of noblemen on horseback on the left side, a deer attacked by the hounds in the center, two hunters with a trumpet on the right side. Trees on the background. Silver mounts, partially pierced and stamped 'R' inside a square and above the net. dimensions 10 x 11 cm.
dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Macon, Rifled, octagonal, 11 mm cal. barrel with longitudinal grooved, finished, with precision front sight; forward spring lock signed in gold 'F.qué PAR R DAMON A MACON'. Briar-root, half stock with iron mounts, trigger guard with finger supper decorated with a curl, finished and with gold monogram, set trigger, elegant, iron, faceted butt-plate. In its original case lined with green velvet with all the tools. Great shooter's arm. length 43 cm.
