DUKE & DUCHESS OF YORK: A rare and unique vintage ' Greater Brighton Celebrations ' Wednesday 30th May 1928 Luncheon Menu, celebrating the ' Visit Of Their Royal Highness The Duke & Duchess Of York '. Signed to the front by Elizabeth Bowes - Lyon (later The Queen Mother) simply ' Elizabeth ' and her husband Prince Albert (later King George VI ), simply signed ' Albert .' Both autographs in the same fountain pen ink to a light portion of the front cover. 23cm x 15cm. Comes with a somewhat candid photograph, believed to be related, annotated ' The Two Queens (Mary & Elizabeth) With Curator Of Royal Pavilion.' Obtained personally by a relative of the vendor. Rare.
Five boxes of assorted china and glassware to include Emma Bridgewater mugs, Royal Worcester "Evesham" ramekins, three modern pottery shaped dishes by Tim R Walker, together with a box of sundry items to include a Chinese superwash rug, various prints, a mirror, etc CONDITION REPORTS All items with wear and scuffs, some items with damage and losses. Two Emma Bridgewater mugs - light wear and dirt. Hare figures are of plastic / resin. Portmerion Botanic Garden plates with wear, scuffs, scratches, some with chips. The Studio pottery wares - some inscribed to base TRW. The cranberry glass jug is damaged and cracked. Metal items with various wear and rusting, some losses. The Spode Italian Pattern items have wear and scuffs, and some small chips. The Prattware style jar and cover has cracks, crazing, stains and inscribed to base "Windsor Castle and Hare Coursing ..... reproduced by Kirkhams Ltd ....". A Middle Eastern Niello decorated walking cane, the handle in the form of a mythical beast CONDITION REPORTS There is some roughness to the tongue of the mythical beast, unsure whether this is a repair or manufacture. Has general wear and tear to include pitting, light surface scratching, etc. Length approx 98cm. Age appears to be 20th Century and most likely later rather than early.
A yellow topaz brooch with mother of pearl and seed pearl decorated mount, a pair of yellow metal earrings in the form of flowers, a polished-seed pendant, a white metal mounted mother of pearl decorated pendant, an oval polished stone and white metal mounted pendant, an early 20th Century ivory bead necklace, a garnet bead necklace, a 19th Century tortoiseshell and ivory inlaid ring, and a miniature carved wood couldron CONDITION REPORTS Pearl and topaz brooch - various seed pearls are missing and appear to have been re-glued and re-strung. The polished stone and white metal mounted pendant - the central stone has various chips to the edges. The various ivory beads have splits. Garnet necklace has been re-strung. The pair of yellow metal earrings appear to have had something hanging off the backs of them as there are loops on both which have been cut. Tortoiseshell and ivory inlaid ring has been broken in half. All items have general wear and tear conducive with age and use to include surface scratches, light knocks, etc. See images for more details.
A Persian runner, the central panel set with repeating floral sprays on a pink background, 405 cm x 80 cm CONDITION REPORTS Overall with quite a lot of dirt, and some light wear, but generally a good amount of pile. Some slight unevenness to shape of edges. Appears to be hand made and of reasonably good quality.

AN OFFICERS MEMORIAL PLAQUE. A circular bronze ornately decorated frame, with inset 'Widows Penny' named to Douglas Cameron Moodie. 2/Lt Moodie was serving in the 1/4th Battalion Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, when he Died of Wounds on the 15th March 1917. He is buried in Merriville Communal Cemetery, approximately 15 kms from Bethune. Son of James and Alice Moodie of 1 Blenheim Gardens, Brixton Hill, London, aged 25 yrs. Entitled to a 1914/15 Star (KOYLI), British War & Victory Medals. They were issued to his Mother at Heatherton, 61 College Road, Epsom, Surrey.
A BRITISH WAR MEDAL TO AN OFFICER CASUALTY. Named to Capt H F Blake, Wiltshire Regiment attached 13th Durham Light Infantry. Harold Frederick Blake served in France from the 29th July 1915, being Killed in Action 7th October 1916. Son of the late Frederick and Florence Louisa Blake of 12 Grosvenor Hill, Wimbledon also 65 Worple Road, Wimbledon, London SW. Buried in Warlencourt British Cemetery France. Commissioned 2/Lt on the 22/9/1914, into the 18th Battalion Durham LI. Lt later T/Capt 30/10/1914 June 1916 Wiltshire Regt attached 3rd Battalion S Lancs Regt. July 1916 Captain Wiltshire Regt attached 13th Battalion Durham LI.
A DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY OFFICERS TRIO. A 1914/15 Star named to Q M 2/Lt A Rendell DLI. British War & VIctory Medals named to Q M & Capt A Rendell. Arthur Rendell served with the 12th Battalion Durham Light Infantry in France from 25/8/1915. At some time he appears to have been attached to the Northumberland Fusiliers. His address when he applied for his Medals was given as, 61 Newcombe Road, Earlsdon, Coventry.
A 1796 LIGHT CAVALRY PATTERN VARIANT SWORD. A 1796 Variant Sword in the Light Cavalry style, with steel mounted scabbard. The clean short 1796 blade of 28" in length, has no visible markings. The grip has been rebound and has a shaped backstrap, like the hilt in steel. The scabbard has also been refurbished, making an interesting variant or private purchase sword.
23rd MADRAS NATIVE INFANTRY GLASS SIDEPLATES. (7) Frosted glass outer section, with Now or Never and the Regimental Badge in the clear centre. Thick glass with 6.1/4" diameters, WLI in the centre with Seringapatam and Nagpore in scrolls below. In 1903 the 23rd Madras Native Infantry became the 83rd Wallajahbad Light Infantry.

(Alfred) A 1914/15 Star, British War & Victory Medals named to 1358 Pte W Higgins Som L I. (200076) (William) British War & Victory Medals named to 241891 Pte A H Higgins. Som L I. (Arthur) believed to be the younger brother. Alfred Higgins served under number 11500 in France from the 22nd January 1915. (D O W) on MIC notes. CWGC states 4th Battalion Coldstream Guards, aged 26. Died of Wounds 25/06/1917. Buried in Plot 3 Row E Grave 19. Ferme-Olivier Cemetery Belgium. The son of John and Elizabeth Higgins of 2 Longbridge, Shepton Mallet. William Higgins served in Theatre 5a (Asia) from the 14th August 1915. A note on his MIC states Died of Disease 15th November 1916. CWGC states 15/11/1916 aged 24. Number 200076 commemorated on the Basra Memorial. Serving in the 1st/4th Somerset Light Infantry. The son of the Late John and Elizabeth Higgins. An Evercreech Somerset Peace Scroll July 1919 named to G Higgins. A mother from Somerset, who lost two sons and her husband in a short time. See Illustration
LAURENCE STEPHEN LOWRY (1887-1976); a signed limited edition coloured print "Going to the Match", signed in pencil lower right, bearing blind stamp and letter to number stamp for 188 lower left, published by the Medici Society 1972, 53 x 68.5cm. This print was purchased by the vendor's father c.1973 and has never been framed or exposed to light. It is presented with a mount and the original brown paper which has covered it since its purchase, along with the footnote of purchase price of £66.95 + VAT. (D) CONDITION REPORT: As this has been wrapped in original paper, not framed or exposed to light, it is presented in excellent condition, the colours are remarkable, no foxing, no staining. LAURENCE STEPHEN LOWRY (1887-1976); a signed limited edition coloured print "Berwick-upon-Tweed", signed in pencil lower right, bearing blind stamp and letter to number stamp 584 lower left, published by the Medici Society 1973, 53 x 43cm, unframed. This print was purchased by the vendor's father in late November 1973 and has never been framed or exposed to light. It is presented with a mount and the original brown paper which has covered it since its purchase, along with the footnote of purchase price of £40 + VAT. (D) CONDITION REPORT: As this has been wrapped in original paper, not framed or exposed to light, it is presented in excellent condition, the colours are remarkable, no foxing, no staining. The left hand edge of the paper has old cellotape along most of it. There is approx 3cm of clear paper between the cellotape and the edge of the image. There is a smudge in the printed "Berwick-upon-Tweed by LS Lowry RA reproduced by permission of Ronald Lyn Esq." at the very bottom of the paper from the "o" of "of" to "n" of "Ronald". There is a tiny mark to the edge of the paper approx 3cm up from the bottom right hand corner. The image is in excellent condition. No marks or scratches. As new. A Chinese light purple glazed vase with slender neck, mould decorated with a dragon amongst clouds and backs, double ring mark to base, height 16cm, a similarly glazed incense burner modelled as a shishi dog, width 12.5cm, a further turquoise glazed shishi dog censor with detachable cover, height 13.5cm and a mid 20th century turquoise glazed circular pot with impressed archaistic style seal mark to the base, diameter 12.5cm (4). CONDITION REPORT: Incense burner has chips to the bottom rim of the cover. Crudely glazed. See additional images.
A George V hallmarked silver Corinthian column candlestick with stop fluted shaft and square stepped loaded base with beading and removable beaded sconce, makers mark rubbed, Birmingham 1923, height 31cm, with matching adaptation to three light candelabrum in white metal, apparently unmarked, total height 45cm. CONDITION REPORT: Hallmarks to the base are a bit rubbed, areas of tarnish, mainly to the stem. Traces of cleaning products. One branch is a bit misshapen, the other one has a sconce that is a bit loose and wobbly. Areas of small dents to sconces.
