1935 DOUGLAS ENDEAVOUR  494CCReg. no. CPJ 978Frame no. AA/106Engine no. 5/J106Described by Douglas at the Nov 1934 Olympia Show as a masterpiece on two wheels, silent, safe, light and luxurious. The last word in engineering practice the Endeavour was designed by Eddie Withers and Jack Clapham and was the first Douglas transverse horizontally opposed twin with shaft drive and four speed gearbox. For sale at £72-10 shillings it was very expensive and put it in direct conflict with the likes of the Matchless Model X and the Rudge Ulster. Initially designed for a production run of 200, Eddie Withers in a magazine interview in the 1980s said he believed no more than 50 were actually made due to the financial difficulties the factory was in at the time.Condition - this Endeavour was purchased in 2014 with the intention of carrying out a full restoration but, after getting the registration sorted out and the engine running it unfortunately had to be put on the back burner and the restoration never began. It has to be one of the rarest prewar Douglas motorcycles available today and is a lovely oily rag example of this rare model.Comes with - a current V5C, an old buff logbook, a factory sales leaflet, various pictures and a few spares.

Lot 34

1972 Suzuki TS185J SierraReg. no. PHJ 721KFrame no. TS185 - 27599Engine no. TS185 - 27608In the 1970s, especially in the USA and Canada there was a demand for a dual-purpose motorbike that had the light weight, nimble handling and low cost of a 125 combined with the torque and power of a 250. Suzuki achieved the design brief with the production of the TS185 Sierra. It had six inches of adjustable front fork travel and adjustable rear shocks, good progressive brakes for the steep off-road decent and a good margin of safety when on the tarmac. The engine was strong and reliable and at under 700$ it was a great success.Condition: Imported from California and restored to a very high standard several years ago, it is still in good condition and would make someone a light weight, powerful dual-purpose trail and road bike that is ready to go. Described by the owner as very easy to start and runs well with everything working as it should.Comes with – a current V5C and dating certificate from Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club.

Lot 5

1967 Triumph 650cc T120 BonnevilleReg. no. KCG 89EFrame no. T120 DU54529Engine no. T120 DU54529The Triumph Bonneville owes its existence to the record breaking successes achieved on the Utah Salt Flats in 1958 when, a Tiger 110 set a new 650cc production machine record of over 147mph. Launched later that year the production Bonneville started its long run and over the following years the bikes were continually upgraded including the Unitary construction of the engine and gearbox.  There can be no argument that a late sixties Triumph Bonneville is one of the best-looking British motorcycles ever made. This bike comes from a large collection of Triumphs and has been well maintained. The owner says it is a lovely bike to ride and everything is working as it should. This bike is fitted with the later (1968) twin leading shoe front brake and upgraded rear light.  It appears to be in very good condition and after the usual checks will be a nice addition to anyone’s collection. Comes with - A current V5C and an old logbook.
