C. J. Lewis (1830/36-1892) - Two oil paintings - Harvesting the corn, board 3.75ins x 9.5ins, and shepherd with his sheep, 2.75ins x 8.75ins, both signed, framed and glazedCondition Report - Both paintings are framed and glazed and we have not removed them from their mounts for inspection. Harvesting scene - at centre above the head of the nearest figure is a V-shaped area of miniscule chips/loss to the paint. There is a crease/crack at approximately 45 degrees from the lower right corner. Shepherd with his sheep - similar small area of chipping to paint just above the sheep at approximately the centre of image. These two works have been examined under UV light and there are no obvious signs of restoration.
A Rare Merryweather & Sons Scratch Built White Metal Steam Fire Engine Scale Model, Late 19th Century, the body engraved "1898-1899, The Compton Merryweather Special Prize, won by E. Ratcliff", and with two oval manufacturers plates, 13ins wide x 8.5ins highCondition Report - The hinged cover to the larger water holders (?) is broken and the lid is now detached. The seat for the driver is hinged and this hinge is intact and working. A pair of brackets to either side of this model, which would originally have held hoses or ladders (?), are now missing. There is a greyish all over patination to the model and some very light scattered pitting. In general terms this model appears to be in good condition.
A Cast Brass Figure of a Seated Buddha, 14.5ins (36.9cm) high with wooden standCondition Report - The Buddha appears to be of 20th Century manufacture. There is some light scattered wear but otherwise appears to be in good condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration. The front lower edge to base has some small casting flaws. With the stand it weighs 10.06kg.
An Emerald and Diamond Cluster Ring, Early 20th Century, in white coloured metal mount, set with a centre faceted emerald, approximately .60ct, surrounded by geometric and round cut brilliant white diamonds of approximately 5ct in total, size U, gross weight 11.5gCondition Report - The ring is in excellent overall condition showing wear commensurate with age and very light usage, all stones appear to be securely set, no apparent sign of damage or repair to ring, gallery or settings. All the stones are of a good quality showing no signs of over chipping or damage, however there is some very slight nibbling to the table on the centre emerald (very slight). Overall a good honest example. Please note we are not qualified to grade stones.

Shepard (1879-1976) - Pencil drawing - A balcony outside a large window on the ground floor - preliminary drawing (not used) for "Drawn from Memory", 1957, 4ins x 4ins, in painted frame and glazedCondition Report - There is a vertical crease approximately 1.5ins in from the right hand margin, and some very light scattered discolouration to the paper, otherwise it appears to be in good condition.
A Diamond and Ruby Heart Shaped Ring, Early 20th Century, yellow metal set with a centre pear shaped diamond, approximately .50ct surrounded by small ruby stones in the shape of a heart, size H+, gross weight 2.6g Note: Metal unmarked but tests as 18ct.Condition report:The ring is in good overall condition showing only light wear commensurate with age and moderate usage, all the claws are securely set showing no signs of previous damage or repair. The stone itself is in good general condition showing no obvious signs of damage to the table or girdle. Please note we are not qualified to grade stones.
A Pair of 19th Century Continental Stained and Walnut Torcheres, the tops with shaped, moulded and carved edges, on standing putti columns, and three carved and moulded scroll supports, 13ins wide x 38ins highCondition Report - One - To the top there is some light scattered scratching. To the left hand top, a minimal area of paint. To the lower section of the top, there seems to have been a shrinkage split that has been repaired. To the underside of the top before the carving on the inswept piece, there is a split running vertically about 3ins and then slightly left to that there is another one around 2ins and on the rear side of the same piece there is a split running horizontally 4ins. To the carving of the putto, on its left hand side, there is a small shrinkage split running vertically from the shoulder to the knee and on the reverse from the neck to the bottom of the back. To the lower inswept base, there is a loose piece of moulding around 2ins squared. The back foot of the tripod base seems to have been repaired with evidence of glue. Flight holes are present, evidence of historic woodworm. Overall structurally sound. The other - to the top there is some light scattered scratching and some areas of wear, to the top left hand side, top right hand side and bottom left and right. To the underneath of the top, on the left hand side there is a small shrinkage split running horizontally around 3ins long. To the underside of the top to the inswept base just before the carving there seems to be a piece of replacement timber around 3ins x 2ins. On the left hand side of the putto, from the shoulder running down to the feet, there are various shrinkage splits, one running 9ins, another running round the shoulder down to the foot around 14ins long. The putto at the base is missing a toe on the left foot. To the lower inswept base below the putti there is small piece of moulding missing, around 0.5ins x 0.5ins. To the whole there are flight holes present, evidence of historic woodworm. Overall structurally sound.
A Chinese Yellow Glazed Pottery Bulbous Vase, 15.25ins high, converted to electric table lamp, and shade for sameCondition Report - The vase has not been drilled and the collar supporting the light fitting is detachable. This vase appears to be in good condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration. There is some typical very light scratching to the glaze around the neck.
A Late 18th Century Oak Chest on Stand, with moulded edge to top, fitted two short and three long drawers, stand fitted three short drawers, with shaped apron, on cabriole legs with pointed pad feet, 38ins wide x 22ins deep x 57ins highCondition Report - To the whole there is some light scattered scratching to the top. There is some dark staining. To the left hand side there is some veneer damage with a 2ins x 2ins squared piece missing. On the left hand side to the right hand side running horizontally there is a shrinkage split between the two boards. This piece of furniture seems to have been repolished at some point in its life. To the right hand side where the two boards meet in the middle, there is a shrinkage split running vertically from one end to the other. To the right hand side to the left, running vertically from one end to the other, there is a shrinkage split. To the left hand side in the centre where the two boards meet there is a shrinkage split running vertically from one end to the other and to the right hand side, same again. The front is heavily faded. The drawers do run however they are slightly swollen and have some resistance. Replacement locks and handles. To the base on the right hand side, there is a piece of timber missing on the outer right and the same for the left hand front leg. Heavily worn to the feet. Overall this item is structurally sound with some slight movement in the joints.
A Lady's Rolex Oyster Perpetual Automatic Wristwatch, 1979, 14ct gold case, Serial No. 3749453, the gold dial with gold baton numerals and gold bezel, on conforming manufacturer's 14ct gold bracelet, in original box with papersCondition Report - The watch is in excellent overall condition showing wear commensurate with age and light usage, the watch winds runs and sets, there is no obvious sign of previous damage or repair to the case or bracelet, the flip lock bracelet functions correctly, overall case diameter is approximately 25mm, the actual diameter of the face being approximately 20mm, in the original box with the original paperwork, overall in good honest example.
Two Scottish Skean Dhu, formally the property of Andrew Hughes (1880-1967) of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, the first having a 4ins bright steel blade, silver metal fittings, Cairngorm stone to top of hilt, and crown over cipher motif to hilt, silvery metal and leather scabbard showing manufacturers mark HT, 8ins overall and one other unmarked 8ins overall, accompanied by a period photograph of gentleman in Argyll and Sutherland dress and a book on the subjectCondition Report - The larger of the two daggers is in good overall condition commensurate with age and moderate usage, one small metallic pin (possibly holding a badge) is missing, likewise there is no badge attached to the hilt. The blade is in good condition showing only some light corrosion commensurate with age, and likewise the scabbard is also in good overall condition and bears a makers mark, ARGL. The smaller dagger is in excellent overall condition however there is some curvature to the blade, possibly deliberate to make wearing more comfortable, the scabbard is likewise is in good condition and bears the makers mark HT. The photograph is mounted on card and is in excellent condition, likewise the book which bears the inscription in the inner cover "With compliments from A R Bean".
An Early 20th Century Mahogany Kneehole Desk of "Georgian" Design, of serpentine outline, inset with green leather to top and with gadroon edge, fitted three frieze drawers, cupboard to kneehole enclosed by single panelled door, three drawers to each pedestal, on ogee bracket feet, 47ins wide x 30ins deep x 30ins highCondition Report - Light scattered scratching to the whole. Some slight uneven fading to the top. To the left hand side there is some dark gauges around 3ins long. This item has been re-polished at some point in its life. To the back edge there is a small piece of veneer repair, around 2ins long x 0.5ins wide. Some slight wear to all the edge, revealing the undercoat of polish. The green leather top is in overall good condition. The gilt is beginning to fade, to the top left edge there is a small piece of damage to the leather - this is still present but has become loose around 1ins diameter. The drawers run free and easy, with minimal resistance. To each of the four legs there is some slight wear and light scattered scratching. Otherwise, this piece has no obvious damage/loss/restoration. The item is structurally sound, with little to no movement in the joints.

A George III Mahogany Bow Front Chest, with moulded edge to top, fitted two short and three long drawers, on bracket feet, 42ins wide x 22ins deep x 39ins highCondition Report - Some light scattered scratching to the whole. To the top there is some dark staining and some water ring marks. To the right hand side of the top running horizontally there is a shrinkage split, around 6ins long. One the left hand side there is another shrinkage split, around 6ins long, and on the back edge at the top the board is beginning to slightly open, not by much but is visible, running horizontally from one end to the other. Some veneer loose to the back right hand side of the top. To the front moulding, there is some moulding loose commensurate with age and shrinkage. Top is slightly faded. This has been repolished at some point in its life. To the left hand side there is a small shrinkage split near the top left around 4ins running vertically. To the back left edge there is some veneer loss, around 6ins long x 1ins deep. All the drawers run free and easily with replacement locks and handles. There is no key present. Overall the item is structurally sound with little to no movement in the joints. To the backboards there are flight holes present with evidence of historic woodworm.
A Cabochon Amethyst Ring, Early 20th Century, 16mm diameter, set in 22ct gold, size Q, gross weight 7.6gCondition Report - The ring appears to be in excellent overall condition showing no obvious sign of previous repair. The cabochon stone showing slight wear marks commensurate with age and light usage. The stone being well-set and not loose. The ring bears a Birmingham hallmark for 22ct and the year letter P (1864).
A Pair of Chinese Camphor Wood Chests, the lids and fronts carved with fruiting vines on stepped bracket feet, 40ins wide x 21.5ins deep x 22ins highCondition Report - The first chest, there is strong smell emanating from the chest once opened, distinctively of camphor wood, there is some light scattered scratching to the whole, this piece of furniture has been repolished at some point. At the top to the front there is a small shrinkage crack that is not open, running horizontally from one end to the other, at the back of the top is another small shrinkage split which is not open running horizontally from one end to the other, to the front there is a small scratch on the left hand side around 6ins long, to the right hand side there is a small gouge to the bottom right hand side near the leg running vertically around 1ins long, to the back in the centre of the lower section there is a small area of damage around 1/2ins x 1/2ins. Otherwise there is no other obvious damage, loss or restoration, the item is structurally sound with no movement in the joints. There is an additional lock, second chest of 1141, there is some light scattered scratching to the whole, this item has been repolished at some point in its life, to the back edge of the top there is a shrinkage split running from one end to the other horizontally but it has not opened and is very tight, the same to the front edge, to the front there is some small areas of scratching and deep gouges to the left hand side there are some small areas of scratching and deep gouges underneath the handle and to the bottom right hand side, otherwise there is no obvious damage, loss or restoration. The item is structurally sound with little to no movement in the joints.
A Late Victorian Dark Walnut Bookcase, the upper part with moulded cornice, fitted nine adjustable shelves enclosed by three glazed doors, the base enclosed by three fielded panel doors with fluted uprights and plinth base, 75ins wide x 18ins deep x 89ins highCondition Report - Top - the original leather effect top is worn with historic scattered bruising/scratching. The oak edging to the top shows some historic scattered scratching, light bruising and wear. There is also some fading. Front - single moulding under drawers has damage and loss under the centre drawer, beneath the right hand knob. There is also a small area of damage to this moulding towards the left hand end. The front shows some fading. Drawers run well. The turned wood knobs are original. The lock to the right hand cupboard is missing. Hinges appear to be original and working. The plinth shows wear/scratching. Generally there is some all over light wear/scratching/knocks and some scattered fading.
A 19th Century Mahogany Side Table, Inlaid with Satinwood Stringings and Rosewood Bandings, moulded edge to top, with canted corners, fitted two frieze drawers inlaid with floral marquetry, on square tapered legs with splayed toes, 55ins wide x 22ins deep x 32.5ins highCondition Report - Some light scattered scratching to the whole, to the left hand side of the top there is a dark watering/ringmark around 4ins in diameter, the same place bottom left hand side of the top there is a small shrinkage split running around 7ins horizontally, there is dark gouge in the centre of the top around 4ins long running vertically, to the lower right hand edge of the top there is another shrinkage split running around 7ins horizontally. At the right hand edge of the back at the top there is another shrinkage split around 4ins long, there is a dark gouge on the right hand side running to the left horizontally, around 15ins long. This item seems to have been repolished at some point making all the scratches stained and dark. On the left hand edge of the top there are two more dark scratches that are around 12ins long each horizontally. On the moulding to the left hand side there is shrinkage commensurate with age. On the lower frieze the crossbanding is showing signs of shrinkage but is commensurate with age running all the way around, left, centre and right hand sides. The drawers run free and easily, with no signs of resistance. The item is structurally sound, however there is some movement in the joints.
A Late 19th/Early 20th Century Brass Framed Rectangular Wall Mirror of "Art Nouveau" Design, the frame of planished finish and embossed with stylised flowers and studded, inset with plain mirror plate, 25ins x 15ins overall. Condition Report - There is some light scattered wear to the metal. There are a few very small scattered dents to the metal. The mirror plate appears to be original, and is in good condition with no obvious loss to silvering. Back board similarly appears to be original
An Early 20th Century Enamelled Rectangular Advertising Sign 'Cadbury's Chocolates Made at Bournville' in brown and white, 24ins x 36ins. Condition Report - There are some light scattered chips to the enamel around the outer edges, and a few light scattered scratches to the sign, but otherwise the front of the sign appears to be in reasonably good condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration. The back shows a series of light scattered rust spots. On our view this is a period enamel sign.
A 19th Century French Ormolu and Mahogany Wheel Aneroid Barometer and Thermometer, by Henry Dasson of Paris, with 3ins diameter enamel dial and enamel thermometer, within ormolu case cast with grape vines and leaves, 18ins highThe item appears to be in good overall condition, showing no obvious sign of previous repair or damage, there is some light wear to the gilding commensurate with age and moderate usage, the enamel scale to the thermometer is in good condition showing no signs of hairline cracks or chips, the glass bulb containing the spirits is intact. The barometer itself-the enamel to the face is in good condition showing no obvious sign of cracks, chips or hairline and the numerals are distinct. The gold decoration to the dial is also intact and in good order and the hands appear original. Overall a good honest example.

The centre emerald stone shows some light marks commensurate with age and usage, the brooch mount is detachable and is in excellent condition, likewise the tremblant attachment. All diamonds are likewise securely mounted, overall an excellent example of a quality item. Please note we are not qualified to grade stones.
A Fruitwood, Brass and Horn Snuff Mull, Late 19th Century, modelled as a dragon, with presentation plaque dated "1896", 13.5ins wide x 7ins highCondition Report - There is very small bruise to the tip of the dragon's natural right ear. The hinge is intact and working. There is some very light scattered wear to the metal detail, but otherwise this snuff mull appears to be in good condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration.
A George III Mahogany Chest, with moulded edge to top, fitted two short and three long graduated drawers with brass swan neck handles, on bracket feet, 39ins wide x 21ins deep x 41ins highCondition Report - To the whole there is some light scattered scratching. To the top there is some dark staining and water ring marks. To the right hand side of the top at the bottom there is a small area of repair where the mahogany veneer has been replaced with oak. On the back right hand edge the same, where a small area of veneer has been replaced with oak. To the front edge of the top there is some damage to the mahogany veneer around 2ins long x 0.25ins wide. There is a small gouge to the very front of the top around 2 to 3ins long. To the right hand back edge there is a small shrinkage split running approximately 5ins horizontally. To the right hand side there is a shrinkage split running vertically from one end to the other. To the left hand side there is a shrinkage split running vertically from one end to the other and about two-thirds of the way down there is a horizontal shrinkage split running from the front edge back around 15ins long. The drawers are slightly swollen but they do run with minimal resistance. Replacement locks and handles. The item is structurally sound with little to no movement in the joints.
A Continental Silvery Metal and Enamel Mounted Glass Octagonal Box and Cover, possibly French, the lid enamelled with four cherubs and a goat seated amongst the vines, within Royal blue enamel and silvery metal border engraved with leaf scroll ornament, 5ins x 3.25ins x 2.5ins highCondition Report - Glass - small flat chip through right vertical edge at front, and three small chips to the lower part of the front panel at front. Silver - small circa 1mm split/crease to front edge at left of silver collar. Hinge works well. Enamel - some very light scattered scratching but otherwise this appears to be in good condition, save a very small area of blue enamel missing to outer border at front, left, measuring approximately 1mm x 3mm.
***George Mackley (1900-1983) - Watercolour - Stone built farmhouse at the foot of a mountain, signed and dated 1976, 10ins x 14ins, framed and glazedCondition Report - This framed and glazed work has not been inspected out of its frame. There is evidence of very light scattered foxing, most obvious present to the sky area, but otherwise this work appears to be in good condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration.
A George IV Mahogany Console Table With White Marble Top, fitted one frieze drawer, stamped T.Wilson, 68 Great Queen Street, London, on monopodia front supports of griffin form, 51ins wide x 20.5ins deep x 37.5ins high Note: Retailed by Thomas Wilson, recorded as a furniture broker and appraiser at 68 Great Queen Street between 1821-1829Condition Report - There is some light scratching to the whole, to the bottom there is some uneven fading, to the back left hand side there is a small piece of moulding which is loose but present, to the base there is a shrinkage split that hasn't opened but is present and visible on the left hand side running horizontally around 12ins long, to the right hand side on the edge there is another the same around 10ins long and in the centre around 8ins long. Some slight fading to the left hand griffin. To the back wing of the griffin there is a small crack running vertically around 3ins long. To the right hand griffin the centre of the wing running vertically there is a shrinkage split from one end to the other and on the left hand wing and the same for the left hand griffin. The drawer is slightly stiff and swollen but still runs, with some slight resistance. Otherwise there is no obvious loss or restoration. The item is structurally sound with little to no movement to the joints.
18th Century English School - Oil painting - Half length portrait of a woman wearing a pearl necklace, relined canvas 40ins x 32ins, in gilt moulded frameCondition Report - The canvas has been relined. There appears to be some restoration to her natural right forearm and hand, her upper chest just below the pearl necklace and also to both right and left sides of her face and forehead. Additionally there appears to be some light areas of restoration to her hair on her right, and some scattered areas of restoration to the background, particularly close to the right hand side of the frame, in line with her wrist and up to the upper right corner. Also some small areas above her head and to the right of her head. There is some light scattered craqueleur to the paint, but no obvious sign of lifting. Two small flakes of paint missing just above the sitters head. The later frame is in reasonably good condition with just a few small scattered areas of damage to jesso.

The item is structurally sound with no movement in the joints.Two of two-there is light scattered scratching to the whole, it is unevenly faded to the top, there is a dark, heavy ring mark to the left hand side around 5ins in diameter, to the top right hand side there is some discolouration and staining, to the base there is some more profound scratches to all four edges. otherwise there is no obvious damage, loss or restoration. The item is structurally sound, there is no movement to the joints.
