Chips vary in size, from a few mm to 1.5 cm. Gilt areas with tarnish.
Kings of Mercia, Offa (757-96), Penny, Light coinage, London, Ealhmund, offa rex merciorv, draped bust right within segmented inner circle, rev. +e al mv nd in angles of a floriate lozenge-cross containing cross botonée over saltire, 1.14g/12h (Chick 47c [SCBI America 183], same obv. die, rev. type unlisted for this moneyer; SCBI Lyon 560, same obv. die; N 308; S 905). Flan crack at 11 o’clock and with the usual light porosity, otherwise very fine and very rare £1,000-£1,200

Minor flan crack at 4 o’clock, otherwise extremely fine with light dusty find patina, extremely rare £1,500-£2,000 --- Provenance: Found in the Bristol area, 2013 (EMC 2013.0061).
