A Leibstandarte Officers' Mess meat dish in 'German Silver' with dished centre and shaped rim engraved with the 'L.A.H.' monogram. Marked 'Savhs Mettalw. Fabrik AUG Wellner Sne, 37x 23 cm. See Mollo 'Uniforms of the SS', Vol.3 p.57, fig 2, for an illustration of this monogram. This is said to have been looted by the Russians in 1945 from the Leibstandarte's barracks at Lichterfelde in Berlin. *CR A nice example with some light marking to the surface.

With a 82.5 cm curved blade with sharpened edge and broad fuller, indistinctly marked to include a crown above a 4 and to the back of the blade r.gill (?). With stirrup guard, wooden grip and rounded pommel. 96 cm overall. *CR Blade with two holes pierced, rust and area of loss by point.

In steel scabbard with twin ring suspension. 108 cm overall. *CR Later painted black and gold, a nice blade with light rubbing.

A FINE VICTORIAN PRESENTATION TABLE CENTER 'THE STERN OF H.M.S. HOWE. An unusual presentation piece with engraved plaque 'The Stern of H.M.S. Howe to Captain Assheton Gore Curzon Howe R.N. C.B. From a few old friends on board H.M.S. Howe. 25th February 1892.' With two brass models of the 30 caliber breech loading guns that the ship carried, deck details, railing and white ensign. 44 cm x 26 cm. 10 cm high.H.M.S. Howe was an Admiral-class ironclad battleship built for the Royal Navy during the 1880's. Sir Assheton Gore Curzon-Howe KCB CMG CVO, 13th child of Richard Curzon Howe, 1st Earl Howe. He rose to the rank of Admiral ending his illustrious career as Commander-in-Chief Portsmouth. *CR Engraved plaque detached, loss to area behind plaque, light damage and loss in places, gun mounts loose.

A FINELY TAILORED SCARLET, BLUE AND GILT HUSSARS JACKET AND CAP. A scarlet Hussars type jacket with gilt braid trim and dark blue cuffs and collar, with horizontal bands of braiding to the front, round fronted buttons throughout and pointed diamond shaped braid to the cuffs. Across the shoulders approximately 46 cm, the back 50 cm top to bottom. With a busby style cap with red bag to the top and gilt eight pointed star to the front. *CR Some moth damage, signs of wear and light damage, hat slightly out of shape.

With a raised comb decorated with a fire-breathing dragon to either side, fire brigade plate to the front with crossed axes. With chain link chin strap with large round foliate bosses to either side. With original leather liner to the interior. 27 cm high, 29 cm front to back. *CR Some light dents from use, especially to the top. Chin strap leather broken, otherwise a very attractive example.

With gilt guard with folding latch, wire bound fishskin grip and lion's head pommel, with sword knot. In leather and brass scabbard, 97cm. With Sword belt and travelling case. The folding catch named A. H. Wilson. *CR Some light marking and wear, generally in good condition.

A 1918 Mk VII compass marked with Government issue arrows, M.I.O and 1918. With leather case and strap. *CR Both with some light scuffing, but generally nice examples.
A GERMAN MANUFACTURED TURKISH M1918 STEEL HELMET. The helmet with twin lugs and folded rim, the front slightly higher than on German examples. Painted in a camouflage pattern with an 'R' in a circle to the right, possibly a German Friekorps badge, with a bullet hole, entering to the right below the lug and a larger exit hole to the right. 22 cm wide, 17 cm high, 27 cm front to back.It is possible that the slightly higher brim is to allow Turkish Muslim soldiers to bow their heads to the ground whilst praying. *CR Liner lacking. In 'As found' condition with light surface rust and degraded surface.

A 19TH CENTURY GERMAN FLINTLOCK PISTOL BY I.H. WICHMANN, OLDENBURG. A 19th Century muzzle loading flintlock pistol with a 28.5 cm tapering damascus type barrel, 14 mm at the muzzle. Stamped 324 and 'VC', with percussion action firing mechanism, the lock plate marked 'I. H. Wichmann in Oldeburg' unit marked to the other side 'A51' with walnut stock with fitting for extended stock. Various parts numbered '24'. 44 cm overall. *CR Some small splits to timber, light marking to surfaces, a nice example.PLEASE NOTE THIS GUN IS IN THE UK AND YOU MUST BE AWARE OF ANY LOCAL LAWS RELATING TO IT BEFORE BIDDING.

An Essex and Suffolk Cyclist Battalion cap badge, castle to the centre within oak wreath, King's crown above and white metal scroll 'Essex & Suffolk Cyclist Battn.' On slide fitting. 4.5 cm x 4.6 cm. Formed in 1908 they were renamed to the 8th (Cyclist) Battalion Essex Regiment in 1911. *CR Some light marking.

A fine 1871 pattern nickle plated helmet with central and rear foliate bands, tall fluted four sided spike with white plume and central rose finial, with chin strap with leather backing with large rosette fixings, with a broad helmet plate for 'Yorkshire Dragoons Y.C.' against a pebbled star and foliate wreath, beneath a crown. With replaced liner. 37 cm high, 234 cm front to back. *CR A very fine example, small split to base of spike and light marking dents to body.

A CAVALRY OFFICERS FULL DRESS HELMET PLATE AND CHIN STRAP. 1902-1952. A Full Dress Household Cavalry Officer's Helmet Plate with King's Crown with red enameled centre within blue garter surround, against an eight-pointed star, against a frosted gilt centre and Order of the Garter collar and oak leaves. with four folding fixing points to the reverse. 19 x 17 cm. With a chin strap on rose mounts, 53 cm, and Sandhurst Military Academy cap badge. This badge and chin strap belonged to Major Bill Stringer of the Household Cavalry who joined as a Trooper as an alternative to becoming a 'Bevan Boy'. Rising to the rank of Major, on his retirement his colleagues mounted a leather-bound waste paper basket with the badge on one side, the chin strap as the handle. A gift to the collector from the family of Major William Stringer of the Household Cavalry. *CR Good condition with only light rubbing, enamel to middle slightly off-centre.
