A rare Faience ‘Egyptian’ wall plaque, circa 1880, Leeds Art Pottery Co., inscribed front and back, and signed indistinctly, decorated with the head of a Pharoah, inscribed, in relief with jade and light creamy brown glaze, the front inscribed ‘Webb & Co., Leeds - Faience’, the back stamped ‘Leeds Art Pottery’, 36cm diameter. NOTE: There were a number of factories in the Leeds area producing similar Faience pottery in the late 19th century, with much borrowing from each other of popular styles. Burmantofts being very similar and also named perhaps confusingly 'Leeds Fireclay Company'. In any event the output by Leeds Art Pottery was highly regarded at the time.

Would benefit from a clean. Some small chips and areas of residue. Several small cracks (likely as a result of the firing process). Rubbing to the metal with some marks and scratches consistent with age and usage. No obvious restoration.

A large pair of French porcelain figures of a lady and gentleman, late 19th century, in formal attire and each raised on a circular plinth, applied marks for Jean Gille, 38cmCondition report: Gentleman - with loss to the object in his right hand. The little finger of this hand with some restoration. Lady with a large firing crack to the underside of the base and with associated hair crack travelling up the side of the plinth, and a slight way onto the hem of her dress. There is no further damage or repair. Both figures with light gilt wear.
