AARNE JACOBSEN: AN "ANT" or No. 3100 CHAIR, with moulded plywood back and seat on three chrome legs. First designed in 1952 for Fritz Hansen, the `Ant` chair is one of the most successful examples of the rationalisation of furniture design by Danish designers in the post-war years. Being manufactured from a small number of parts it could be made cheaply and as it is both sturdy and light it is one of the most versatile chairs of the period. This chair is No.47 in `100 Masterpieces from the Vitra Design Museum Collection` 1996. See Illustration
AN OAK TEN LIGHT CHANDELIER, late 20th century, the triangular frame suspended from chains, and supporting ten turned light pendants with ball finials and brass bulb cups, framework, 40 1/2" high. This chandelier was removed from St Margaret`s Church, Ilkley. It was designed by Barry Rawson, architect and made by G Peter Merrell, Grassington

An American Art Nouveau silver coloured overlaid glass vase by Gorham Mfg. Co., stamped Gorham marks, `CQQ` and `999/1000 FINE.`, the light green body with a trumpet neck, bulbous centre and a flared foot, the overlay with engraved leaves and buds, with three pinched lower ribs, 25cm high. Provenance: A descendant of the sitter. According to family tradition the sitter could be Henry Alcock, an officer in the 13th Light Dragoons, MP for Waterford, married in 1764 or of William Alcock, an offier in the Wexford Militia, died in 1808.
