A 1957 MG Magnette ZB, chassis number KABA13/23840, cream. With a 5-year production run, the Magnette was a sporting saloon featuring MG`s all new "B" Series engine, rack and pinion steering, independent front suspension and hydraulically operated drum brakes all `round. Power output was increased in October 1956 to 64bhp (the ZB) giving the car a claimed top speed of 86mph. Purchased from the Stondon Museum Sale in 2015, this honest ZB is presented in Cream with Red leather interior. The car starts and runs but has been off the road for many years and will require light recommissioning and the usual safety checks before use. No paperwork is supplied with the car. No V5C, MOT and tax exempt. See illustration.
A 1954 Riley RME 1.5 Saloon, registration number DVV 292, chassis number RME 22062, green over black. Produced for just 3 years, the RME was a medium-sized executive car featuring the tried and tested 1.5 litre engine and fully hydraulic braking system. Our example in dark green over black with green leather interior was first registered to a Brigadier residing near Gillingham, North Dorset. After a brief spell in Bath, it was purchased in 1965 by the caretaker at Mells School and has remained in the village to this day. Although the last MOT inspection was June 1990 (at 80,878 miles), the car has been dry-stored since. It starts up and runs well and the current custodian has undertaken a recent brake overhaul enabling the car to be driven to the Sale. Requiring light restoration, the Riley is undoubtedly a very worthwhile project with interesting local provenance. A roof kit including rear window surround, head-lining and rubbers will accompany the car. V5C, MOT and tax exempt. See illustration.
A 1971 MGBGT, registration number EHY 440K, chassis number GHD-5267324G, white. The MGB was introduced in 1962 initially as just a 2-seater roadster with a close-coupled GT arriving 3 years later providing more space for the family man. All cars (other than the V8 variant) came with the 1798cc B-Series engine producing 95bhp and the choice of 4-speed manual gearbox or optional Borg-Warner automatic. Professionally restored with a photographic record between March and September 1992, this example of a chrome-bumper GT started life as a Harvest Gold car but under-went a colour change to Glacier White at time of restoration. Over £9000 was spent. Purchased as a pristine example in March 2002 by the current owner, the car was parked-up after 2004 owing to ill health and has been sitting outside now for a period of years. However, it was running up until recently and the braking system has been fully overhauled in the past 2 years with new lines, slave cylinder, calipers and pads. For light restoration and re-commissioning, this MGB comes with a large history file including photographic records of restoration, many bills and receipts from the early 1990`s and recent receipts for the brake parts. V5C, no MOT. See illustration.
