Sharing a name with Arran’s only other previous legal still (closed in 1837), Lagg distillery focuses on producing peated spirit.
MACALLAN 1983 18 YEAR OLD SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT 43% ABV / 70cl There are few distilleries in the world quite so revered as Macallan. Nestled in the heart of the Speyside region, the rich spirit that runs from their “curiously small stills”, and their penchant for Spanish Sherry casks have proven to be a match made in Heaven, delighting the tastebuds of whisky connoisseurs around the globe. With demand far outstripping supply, they embarked upon one of the most ambitious distillery upgrades of all time, investing £140 million in an ultra-modern still house and visitor centre that seamlessly blends with the surrounding landscape, and is home to a whopping 36 stills capable of churning out around 15 million litres of spirit every year. Even so, getting your hands on a bottle can still be tricky, with new releases selling out as soon as they hit the shelves, and older examples regularly setting records at auction. There is a very light mark on the tube, and some minor corrosion to the tube lid. Please see additional images. The seal is entirely intact.
AUCHENTOSHAN 21 YEAR OLD LIMITED RELEASE LOWLAND SINGLE MALT 43% ABV / 70cl Auchentoshan is part of a small minority of Scottish distilleries, in that every drop of whisky it produces is sold as a single malt. Similarly unusual is its use of triple distillation to produce a purer spirit that’s light and mildly fruity. Situated just outside Clydebank, the distillery was lucky to survive the 1941 blitz relatively unscathed. Only one of its warehouses was damaged by a bomb blast, and another near miss provided a blast crater that later became the distillery’s picturesque pond.

the oval boxwood inlaid top opening to reveal a fleur de lys patterned fabric lining, with green pleated exterior, raised on four square tapering legs and castors united by an X form stretcher, 47cm wide, 34cm deep, 68.5cm high. CR * Light scratches and marks to top, the fabric lining and pleated sections appear to be later , scratches and scuffs to legs.

A Regency lacquered gilt-bronze four light colza chandelier in the manner of Messenger & Sons c.1835. Suspended from a lobate ceiling boss by four foliate cast chains supporting the four branched body richly cast with bearded mask terminals, anthemia, scrolls, acanthus flowers and foliage terminating in a foliate pendant, 90cm high and 68cm wide. CR * Appears to be missing central urn otherwise general condition is good.
