An 1848 pattern wooden cavalry lance, 109" (9'1") overall, with long flattened diamond section head, the socket stamped "ENFIELD 1848" (partly overstamped with Government sale mark) and engraved "CD.97", with bar down one side to take the pennant, GC (the shoe lightly rusted). This is the type of lance carried by the 17th Lancers in the Charge of the Light Brigade. £200-300
24th Light Dragoons silver regimental medal 1801, the oval piece set into a milled rounded border, 70mm x 55mm. Obverse "24th Regt of Light Dragoons" surrounding the arms of Lord Bentinck. Reverse "For Merit Won by Sergt J Chapman. The Gift of Lieut Col Lord Wm Bentinck 3 June 1801" (Balmer R112), NVF (enraving rubbed, slight gap between piece and rim at top).
