An Art Deco silver and enamel travelling vanity set, the blue enamel applied coronets, various makers, retailed by Gieves Ltd, 21 Old Bond Street, Birmingham, 1930-34, in a fitted faux crocodile grey leather case, initialled, with travelling case cover See illustration Condition report Report by GH The clock is ticking and appears to be working. The back cover concealing the movement is slightly loose and both of the hands are slightly tarnished in places, otherwise enamel and other aspects in good condition. The enamel on all the other items is generally in very good condition with very occasional light surface scratches. The enamel top to one of the cut glass scent bottles has a small chip (barely noticeable) above the applied coronet. Two of the pieces from the leather zip up case contained in the right hand side of the set are missing. The leather case to the set is generally in good condition with some scuffs to the leather on the handle. The canvas protective cover has various stains, rips and damages. Overall the set is in good condition with only the aforementioned pieces missing, and appears to have hardly been used.
An Ercol elm two door cupboard, 91 cm wide, and an Ercol elm floor standing corner cupboard (2) Condition report Report by GH The cupboard is in generally very good condition with only occasional light signs of wear and very small scratches. It appears almost as new. The corner cabinet is in similarly good condition with only very light signs of use and wear, with no signs of any damage or repair.

The white picture generally slightly discoloured with slight ripples to the paper. Other wise both in good condition with no obvious damage or restoration.
A Chinese porcelain dish, decorated birds amongst flowers and foliage, in enamel colours, 23 cm diameter, another similar, a cloisonné vase, and other ceramics (a.f.) (box) Condition report Report by GH Both plates have adhesive plate hangers stuck on the back. One of the plates has several small chips and nibbles to the rim, the other also has some very tiny nibbles to the rim. The former has a very subtle hairline crack running across a section of the bottom, visible on both sides. Both plates have some rubbing to a few areas of the paint and some light surface scratching. Both present reasonably well in spite of these things, with no major structural cracks or evidence of restoration. Much of the gilt detailing is rubbed.
An Ercol elm sideboard, 128 cm wide, and an Ercol elm coffee table (2) Condition report Report by GH The coffee table is generally in good condition commensurate with age, with strong joints and no obvious major damages or repair. Some very light fading to the top and perhaps a little loss to varnish from use. Occasional dents, scratches and marks to wood. The sideboard is in similar condition with occasional small amounts of losses to varnish, chips, scratches and marks from use. All four castors present and no signs of any major damage or repair. Some scuffing to wood around the bottom. Overall both pieces are in good condition commensurate with some age and use.

Some light scratching where the cover sits on the jar but overall good. Cover also in good condition. Do not come with their original boxes, but there are associated boxes.

A mahogany secretaire bookcase, having a pair of bar glaze doors above a secretaire door, with three further long drawers below, 108 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by GH Probably late 18th/early 19th century. 214 cm high. The back of the left rear leg is broken but still partially attached. The block which fits in front of the leg is also detached but present. The piece of cock beading to the left on the bottom drawer is loose but still attached. One of the panes of glass is broken. Two of the back boards to the chest of drawers are broken off and missing. There are also cracks and minor damages to the back boards of the bookcase, with some old worm damage. It wouldn't appear that any of the back boards have been replaces. Otherwise the piece is generally chipped, scratched, gouged and stained, with some uneven sun fading, particularly evident on the top of the chest, and some light water staining and ring marks, all commensurate with age and use. There are also some pieces of cracked and/or repaired veneer, notable on the right hand side of the chest and on the foremost left part of the top of the chest. The interior to the secretaire is in generally good condition with all matching knob handles and no obvious damage or repairs to any of the pigeon holes or drawers. Comes with an insurance letter from the company where the piece was bought in 1978 by the vendor of £1,275.

All engraving appears to be period. Marks also clear, except makers mark which is rubbed. No obvious restoration or damage. Light scratches to surface. Overall good
Dutch school, still life of flowers, oil on panel, 38 x 49 cm Condition report Report by GH Some foxing to the surface (probably cleanable). Some crazing and light cracking to the surface of the paint. Some very light scratches in a couple of places. No obvious losses to paint, flaking or restoration. Panel does not appear to have warped or cracked. Around 12 old woodworm holes to the back. Overall, good condition commensurate with age.
An oak and elm refectory table, raised on turned gun barrel legs, united by a plain H shaped stretcher, 213 cm long Condition report Report by GH The refectory table: Some loss of polish, scratches and wear, particularly around the legs and stretchers. Various age related scratches and marks to the top. Structurally very good and very solid, with little or no parting to wood joints and no obvious bowing or warping to the wood. Generally nicely patinated. Top detaches from base. Also some light fading to the top. Overall good.

A set of six Ercol elm and beech hoop back dining chairs, and matching dining table (7) Condition report Report by GH Some light scratches and dents to the top from use. Spare leaf is concealed underneath. Structurally appears in good condition with no obvious loose joints, damages or repairs. Some staining towards the bottom of the legs, probably from floor cleaning around the table. Chairs in similar condition, with signs of light use, some wear to varnish on the backs, but no signs of any damage or repairs. Overall good. The spare leaf folds in half on hinges and is concealed below the surface of the table. There are no other spare leaves. The top measures 83 x 153 cm and the extra leaf provides and extra 71.5 cm of length to the table. The height is 72 cm.

An unusual wicker travelling trunk, with brass mounts, on bun feet, probably 18th century, 80 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by GH Generally appears complete. Some damage to metal bands across the top with some bent sections and some that have parted. Various rivets missing. Some scuffs and damages to cane work and some thin areas. Locks and clasps do not close very well and do not appear to meet flush. Internally some rips to the interior fabric of the lid, the fabric lining in the main part of the chest is generally good with some small tears. All four feet present. Various other light damages to metalwork visible from underneath. Overall in saleroom fresh, complete and seemingly unrestored condition.
