A pair of Chinese porcelain vase lamps,mid-19th century, each baluster-shaped vase with gilt 'mythical beast' handles and further decorated with beasts, insects, and flowering and fruiting foliage, within cast gilt-metal mounts, the drilled base with a pressed metal label 'Gagneau, rue d'Enghien 21'. 42cm high (2)These lamps were converted by Édouard and François Gagneau, the finest lampistes of the mid-19th century.No obvious major faults. Please note that these are NOT a true pair. One rim restored. Both with light surface scratches and tiny chips to the enamel.Rubbing and wear to gilding. Some slight knocks and dings to gilt-metal. Tarnish and discolouration. Requires wiring.
A pair of large opaline glass carbon-arc lanterns,early 20th century, each with a painted metal corona and a mesh casing to the shade,35cm wide41cm high (2)Condition report: Both with degrading, and bubbling to the paint/areas of inconsistency in the finish due to weathering. drilled holes to the inner rim of one light, shades have different inner lip profiles indicating that one is perhaps a replacement, one shade with small chips and frits to the rim (hidden by the mount) due to screws that hold it in place, the diameter of shade rim 27cm

A pair of polished terrazzo orbs,each on an original, canted square stand, c.1930,26cm high (2)The orbs with general surface scratches, light wear and some tiny holes. Both with apertures beneath, possibly where they have been mounted to be turned. Small chips and knocks to edges and corners of bases. Please see photos.
A George III ormolu three-light candelabrum,almost certainly designed by James 'Athenian' Stuart and probably supplied by Diederich Nicolaus Anderson, c.1758-1765, the baluster-shaped urn with crisply-cast applied palmettes supporting two scrolled arms and a central sconce with cast and applied foliage, the neck and pedestal base with wrythen fluting, applied floral garlands and guilloché and Vitruvian borders,32.5cm diameter maximum33.5cm highThis important candelabrum is amongst the earliest examples of English or European neoclassicism. Six pairs of similar candelabra are known to have been supplied to, amongst others, John, 1st Earl Spencer at Spencer House, George, later 1st Baron Lyttelton at Hagley Hall, The Marquess of Rockingham at Wentworth Woodhouse.Matthew Boulton purchased items from Andersen's stock following his death, including a vase candelabra, elements of which he copied for his own candelabra vases.

One with an area of what appears to be a glaze/manufacturing imperfection. One body surface appears dull in comparison to the other. The other with much pitting.
