FB. 78, British proof to rear of frame. The unit mark is probably for Feld Haubitzer (1st field howitzer battery) or festung batterie, which would correlate to one of the 25,000 pistols FEG made 1911-12. Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out.23cm long The pistol is in very good general condition with the bluing around 95% plus intact. There is slight wear to the muzzle area probably from holster use, some of the sharp edges around the action show slight wear. There is some surface speckling within the bluing that can be seen on the left-hand side of the action and barrel but not on the right side. The trigger is a dull grey colour but some of the detailed action components still have the straw colour to them. The wood grips show light signs of wear to the edges of the cutting, there is a split to the left grip at the base which appears to run up to the screw hole, and there is another spilt which looks to have been repaired running from the top inside of the grip, despite these faults the piece of wood remains stable, an extra images of these have been uploaded online. The action functions correctly with a strong spring. The bore has some frosting mainly around the throat area but this can be seen in other areas of the barrel. A strong rifling pattern remains with no major faults or damages.

Martini Henry 577/450 MkII rifle Martini Henry MkII .577/450 rifle, the action has later added non-original Crown VR mark and 1878 stamps, the new wood stock set has added Enfield roundell to butt with later FW1900 issue stamp added in the late 20th century, 32inch barrel fitted with ladder rear sight and secured by two bands incorporating bayonet lug, Neapolese issue markings to the trigger guard bow, together with a muzzle cover, leather sling and snap cap.Section 58(2) antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. The rifle is in good general condition but is not quite what it seems. Unfortunately, the rifle is one of a batch of Martini rifles that have been modified and is thought to have come through a US dealer where alterations to enhance saleability were added. The VR Crown and Enfield 1878 stamps are new, the action looks to have been scrubbed of any other marks prior to this. The stock set is a replacement with Enfield roundels added. The metalwork has light overall pitting throughout with some patches of pitting that are heavier in areas such as along the line where the barrel meets the wood stock, the barrel bands, and the butt plate. The action works correctly with a strong spring, tight lock up and positive feel. The bore is good with strong rifling and no signs of pitting.
